'cause Tenryu hands are always dropping in Legion..
Am curious as to how Koga compares to Ukon and Rag for events like legion odin and voidwatch where you can keep the AM3 up. Has the sam spreadsheet incorperated Koga? Would be interested in hearing from Ejin for comparison or lolparses because he seems to be the only competant player with one that posts here.
Koga is much like Ryu for DRG, it opens up a crazy new game breaking tier for the job. Koga is better than I ever imagined it would be(and I had some high expectations before getting it), but due to the nature of buffs(the excess attack buffs not really helping shoha much), and SAM's lackluster 2hr in general, it's hard for it to compete with Drakes(from Ryu, assuming they get enough attack buffs to negate its attack penalty), WAR with MS and Reso, and DRK with Souleater and Reso in heavily buffed zerg situations. That said, and Martel might be able to confirm this with some of his ADL parses, It's usually pretty competitive between those 3 jobs/weapons for that fight.
As for Legion, I only use SAM for NQ chamber trophy farm(only killing wave1 for trophy and exiting). Haven't used SAM in Mul because it doesn't seem worth it to lose MS and Tomahawk from WAR.
Well, I'll post some parse data. But keep in mind, ADL isn't really a good fight to compare things on. That fight is largely a matter of disengage/re-engage speed, not getting cure locked while doing so, and if/where AoE's fling you(and whether anything gets between you and the mob when that happens).
These are not individual fights, but total data from all the fair fights for that run. This meaning only fights where DD's didn't die, or have to sit out a fight due to weakness, etc.
These are from the last 3 ADL runs I attended, from oldest to most recent.

You can attempt to estimate its DPS during AM3 by adding 20% TArate and 40% rate in the gear selection tabs (set bonus). SAM doesn't seem to have a huge amount of TA available so that shouldn't change the comparison much. For more accurate comparisons, tell me what is the priority among mythic2x/3X and TA/DA is.
TA -> DA -> AM3 -> Hasso-zanshins
That method is pretty inaccurate, Due to the proc order for multi hit. And it's really inaccurate on ws, since AM3 can only proc once on ws, whereas DA/TA can proc twice.
you can fairly accurately simulate the tp phase(not counting the need to refresh AM3) by adding OAX to the weapon, but WS are a different matter.
I didn't know this. Please allow me to inquire further.
You meant to say that DA/TA/QA can proc up to twice on each WS (for instance, once for each of the first two hits of the WS, is what I knew, so it of course doesn't apply if the WS is single hit)
While AM3 can only apply no more than ONCE per WS, but in any hit of the WS?
I wonder how this has been tested and proved. Not saying I don't believe it, just saying I'm curious to know how it has been discovered :D
No, AM3 can proc once on the first hit of the WS but cannot proc on the second hit, while normal DA/TA can proc on either hit.
You can input a bonus or penalty in the gear bonus tab on weaponskill to correct the effect of DA not procing on second hit, this sounds easy. All that matter is going to be average ws damage since additional hits don't contribute to x-hit.
For instance with tachi:shoha with no base DA or TA, I have that AM3 is behaving the same as 36% DA and 0% TA or the same as 18% TA and 0% DA on ws so you'd have to input 20% TA/40% DA on OAX and manually negate existing DA/TA then adding 18% TA or 36% DA on the WS gearsets. This could vary a little with existing DA and TA gear but I doubt it's going be very different from those values.
When using the spreadsheets, I've approximated AM3 with normal OAX stats on the weapon itself plus an amount of DA and TA added to a special item I only have set for WS (something labeled like Moonshade TPB (Mythic)) that approximates the gains from OA2/OA3 on one hit of a WS after factoring in multihit priority. It's not perfect, especially when dealing with weaponskills that may overshoot the 8 hit/round cap, but it's sufficient for the most part.
What's better? Installing FFXI on SSD or HDD? My SSD is pretty small when it comes to storage capacity. I'd hafta move the bulk of my games to HDD and bare with the sacrifices of loading times for those games. But for FFXI, are load times noticeably longer when loading FFXI off the D: drive? Takes forever to zone as it is on the primary drive D: If the difference is not too bad I'll just save the SSD space and dump FFXI on the HDD.
Zones load a bit faster. Nothing huge, wish I would've dropped the game on my 1TB HDD instead.
Thief Mercy Stroke question. Looking at this thread and others that popped up by searching for mercy stroke, seems like there isn't a clear consensus on the best waist piece. Some people said Wanion, Prosilio, Windbuffet, and even Shadow. Which one would be the best?
ToM macc staff 99, or Tupsimati 99 with aftermath 1 up?
Before i start doing The Fulgarante Great Sword OAT. Does it still worth it?
How it does vs Relic and Empy90?
