I would just go with brawny and slowly work towards something like vere or spharai honestly, you will end up regretting the time and gil spent on an str path(I certainly did, back when I thought vere wasn't realistic for me). Fucking awful doing those before the GOV repop timer changes.

Just use Brawny. Gil spent making anything else would be better put towards Vereth or Spharai.

Decided I like really like DRK, but Ragnarok is still kinda far off; going to make a Magian GSD in the meantime for shits, is OAT or DA better?

To the best of my knowledge, OAT is still the best Magian Great Sword that one can make.

So I'm stuck in my mind between the ever wracking decision of Gungnir or Ryunohige.

I know the Ryu is better. But I guess my main question is a 99 Gungnir puts me at about 50% of the alex needed for the Ryu. But without the Gungnir I am stuck with an 85 Rhongomiant and I really don't like the OAT Polearm at all. So If I do bite the bullet and start shifting my time from trying to finish Gungnir to prepping and doing the extra legwork for Ryu what is a good weapon to use in the meantime (looking at close to a year, prolly with my time schedule) that would still do drg justice until I can somehow get my hands on a Herja's Fork?

Get a Hoarfrost blade and level DRK while you work on Ryunohige. It waste less gil/effort than making Gungnir and you'll do better damage at the end.

I've got Drk at 99, just no real room for Resolution unless I drop Stardiver or Last Stand. Not dropping Exenterator.

Are Scythes still used at all or just Twilight Scythe?

Just Twilight Scythe. Also, you could buy Gram if you don't already have a Hoarfrost Blade.

I'd drop Stardiver and stop playing dragoon until you finish Ryunohige. A DRK with a good Great Sword is going to beat an equally geared DRG with a Gungnir in most situations.

I tend to do Voidwatch on Cor, so the Qilin runs yeah I do use Last Stand.

Though if I would be "okay" with dropping one WS and leveling Resolution then Last Stand would be it. At least I could do Qilin on Drk then.

^ Fuck gungnir. Why waste 120mill odd gil on a placeholder weapon you can't sell back?

    Body questions

DNC: AF3+2 vs Thaumas vs Skadi+1?
Before skadi+1 I thought AF3+2 was better than Thaumas in situations where you didn't cap attack speed, but maybe I was wrong? Where do you place Skadi+1 which has 7% DW (less than AF3+2 body) but many more useful stats?

    BST: Toci's (with Ocelo+1 head) vs Skadi+1
I assume Skadi+1 should be the winner here, because of the DW and such?
Altough honestly on BST I would ideally want to build a hybrid set with master/haste stats, relying on the options that open up once you equip Porthos Byrnie and its 5% haste on body slot.

AF3+2 is still the best for Delay-uncapped situations. Thaumas is still the best for Delay capped situations (last time I checked), and Skadi +1 occupies the strange space where you're not quite delay capped. It's generally not worth it for DNC.

Re-working Cor TP set to use dagger with /war for Fencer with Last Stand (was gonna grab a Nguul).

    For TP phase: Crit Hit Rate+5, Crit Dmg+5 VS 5AGI 10STR 11Ratt?
    Spoiler: show
    Last Stand set is currently:
    Thaumas, Ele Gorget, Altdorf+Wilhelm
    Kudzu, Thaumas, Stormsoul, Stormsoul
    Terebellum, Ele Belt, Thaumas, Thaumas
    Total: 5STP, 25STP needed for 5hit.

    Looking at:
    AF3+2, Rancor, Clearview, Volley
    Loki's, AF3+2, Arewe+1, Rajas
    Libeccio, Oneiros, AF3+2, Thaumas

With Af3 Cape, Impulse, AF2+2 hands and Hyoui's precast for snapshot (hyoui's to offset stp on oneiros cest if rapid shot procs).

Thinking of swapping Loki's+Rancor to Kudzu+Hyoui, would then have to put Loki's in precast to keep STP incase of rapid shot proc so inv space is the same really.

Blah blah x-hit regain voidwatch etc etc. not concerning myself with that in this set. Use different SC group for voidwatch.

Thanks! Did you factor in a possible bonus set? For instance hands look pretty good to TP in, maybe legs and head too? Would 4/5 set and the bonus crit make it worth? Imho it's not enough, but asking just in case.
Aside from DNC, I think Skadi+1 body is probably the best TP option for BST instead, at least compared to OceloHeadHQ+Toci.
Of course it's not the case if you're going for a hybrid build, for which Porthos Byrnie probably is the winner.

Anyway, another question about SCH nuking sets, was wondering about Morrigan+1 comparing it to AF3+2 and Nares.
Head: macc aside, Nares looks much much better, AF3+2 probably best if u're using Ebullience.
Body: Morrigan has +2 mab, but -11 macc. Marginally better but overall not really worth it. Altough it's an excellent Idle piece since it has 2mp/tic refresh
Hands: Eeeh...AF3+2 maybe win for Helix/INT builds, but overall it's a hard choice. Nares have +2mab but -11 macc. You have the Nares set bonus, but then again there's the Morrigan set bonus to factor in too. Probably Morrigan slightly better?
Legs: You don't use AF3+2 for nuking. Shouldn't use Nares either altough they're still useful for idle. I guess Morrigan is a clear winner here and a pretty good overall piece.
Feet: Morri is the best option in theory, better than Nares of course. But if you're using Klimaform (and you should, shouldn't you?) then AF3+2 probably wins again.

Would someone mind to correct the wrong things I just wrote, please?

For the legs slot, you'll want Akasha Chaps, the new undisputed #1 nuking piece.

For the head, there's Chelona Hat (+1), which for raw power is the best there is at the moment, if I'm not mistaken. (AF3+2 will still probably win on Ebullienced nukes)

In the hands slot, yeah, unless you don't need the macc at all, Morrigan +1 is the most balanced option, losing very little from Nares. For Helix, AF3+2 will still probably win.

Body... Well, as you say, -11 macc really hurts considering it's +1 inventory for the situations where macc is capped. I would not risk a resist on high tier VW or Legion for just 2 MAB. And hairpin + Morrigan's +1 offers the same refresh as the Nefer khat + Heka's Kalasiris set, so if you have those, the refresh is irrelevant, too.

Feet: You want them for un-klimaformed nukes, since if you're nuking heavily, you might use more than one element, and the second one won't be boosted.

    That's my take on it.

Edit: On the other hand, Using Morrigan's Body + Hands gets you 3 MAB as a set bonus, which puts you with the same macc as the AF3+2 body + Nares hands combination, plus 3 more MAB. Might be interesting, specially if you add the boots to the mix.

Yeah, Sylow and I worked it out recently starting here:
    http://www.ffxiah.com/forum/topic/27...ge/83/#2159305

The only set that ended up with Skadi's Cuirie +1 in it was a theoretical Last Resort's set. That means it can also probably be used in a theoretical March/Min set, but we haven't looked at it.

    Uh? Really?
How is +1 mab (Chelona) better than +4 INT and 5% mag crit? (not to count the fastcast and inventory-1!)
I was leaning over to Nares tbh.
And uhm... for Helix you should probably use Hyaline I guess, but with my inventory woes I wouldn't bother and just use Nares tbh.

    Heh... Yeah.
Even with set bonus (+2 INT from Hat+Hands) Morrigan would probably still remain the most balanced option with all that macc.

offers the same refresh as the Nefer khat + Heka's Kalasiris set, so if you have those, the refresh is irrelevant, too.
That's what I use, and given my inventory issues I'm usually not keen in getting two pieces for the same slot when I can do almost the same with a single one. Well, I do when there is a noticeable difference, but otherwise I try to limit the amount of items.
It has to be said though that if I'm not wrong you can get Spurrina Head augmented with +2 refresh, in that case Morrigan+1 body would produce a final result of 4 mp/tic, which would be +1 over Heka/Nefer.

Edit: On the other hand, Using Morrigan's Body + Hands gets you 3 MAB as a set bonus, which puts you with the same macc as the AF3+2 body + Nares hands combination, plus 3 more MAB. Might be interesting, specially if you add the boots to the mix.
+5 if You use feet too, and I guess +7 if you add legs in place of Akasha.
So potentially the set bonus can give bigger importance to single pieces which would otherwise lose to other options.
Or can it? I don't know, after all the difference doesn't seem soo huge. Like take legs, would +2 mab make Morrigan+1 better than Akasha? Honestly I don't think so.

Which reminds me that I need a good load ot stuff from Samursk.
Wish I could play 24 hours a day, so many things to do, so little time, so few interested friends!
