Guy Claims US Gov Has Time Travel/Teleportation Tech Since 70's

This appears to be olde but I didn't find anything on it using search, he's currently on local talk radio by me and it was the first I've heard of it.

Basically this dude Andrew Basiago is claiming that his dad worked for DARPA when he was a kid, and that they established teleportation and time travel technologies back in the 70s. He says that he was used as a test subject to be sent through them, and that he is lobbying the government to release the details of the project so that the technology can be used 'for the public good'.

I guess this started on 2010 so I'm sure other people here have at least heard of it but I wasn't able to find any threads about it. I personally think the guy's a crackpot and am laughing that the radio station, which is pretty reputable, have him airtime, but eh.

I remember reading a short story (or maybe just a short book) about this kid whose dad is building a teleporter, and the kid uses it when hes not around, and the dads mad and whatnot but amazed it worked, but then the kid turns green and starts standing in the sun for hours at a time, and eventually becomes a plant/human hybrid because there were some seeds in the teleporter.

I've always thought this plot device was fairly silly. Any properly functioning teleporter is going to have to know the relative position of every atom in the chamber. It won't suddenly combine seeds with people any more than it will suddenly combine your face with your kneecap.
