Head to the bucket if they're too big:

turns out the scooter i was looking at was impossible to get parts for in USA, so now i'm looking at a 2002 Honda Rebel. I sat on one of these this weekend at a dealership and so far it's one of the only bikes i can firmly place my feet on the ground with. fuckin 5'5" bullshit.
Has 5k miles on it and the guy wants $1500 for it.
Judging from the pictures, the tire threads look to be in decent condition. And overall it looks good. Doesn't hurt to try and barter though![]()
Is that a 125 or a 250? As long as it's for town-driving and you're not planning on spending much/any time on the freeways, it should be fine.
250. shouldnt it be able to do 70 no problem? i drive the interstate to go to work/school. 10 minute commute
I've heard it struggles to hit 70+. Is why I ultimately decided to get a 500 for a first bike.
The modern 250s, like the Ninja, can easily do it. But being a carburettor 250 engine...it probably can, but if you're against the wind, have some luggage etc... it'll probably struggle.
For 1500 I would just go 65mph and enjoy my 75mpg
Naw, unless you hear a ping or knocking sound (little mini explosions that shouldn't be happening), stick with regular.
Two cylinder 250cc? I can't see pinging occurring in that case. I was riding a 250cc carb during my riding class and it took regular just fine.
Rebel is 9.2:1 compression ratio so should be fine with the cheap stuff. I do try to use no ethanol gasoline if I can find it. I've heard that if you actually test the E10 at some less upstanding stations, in reality it's closer 20-30% ethanol.
I think I pay an extra 20c a gallon for it. But the bike goes from 46mpg to 50mpg so it doesn't in fact cost anything more
took a -bit- of a 180 on the whole rebel bike thing.. found a really good deal on a 2005 suzuki bergman 650cc instead, and with how much trunk space it offers and how well it rode it was hard to say no. only 2k miles on it.
even my dog can ride it.
Well, careful on the slow turns with that thing Dole. Nice lookin' bike.
Care to explain? Every time I've ever sat on a cruiser like that I felt like it was going to be hard to balance through the turns.
