Nitto NT05 DR won't have tire spin issues . Also make sure front and rear are same size for example i have 245/35/20 on front 285/35/20 on rear. i doubt you'll have an issue but my rear rim is 2 inchs wider than front (lolrotating tires).

Best advice in thread... buy yoko's or craiglist it up to find people who upgraded rims/tire quality and selling slightly used tires. Just search your tire size/car type and i'm sure you'll find some.

I am currently running yoko YK520 on the wrx, a second set of yoko avid trz for backups, and michelin pilot xgt h4's on the focus. Incredible performance for the money.
Just bought some Yokohama S.Drives from tire rack and I'm having the local sears install them. They will most likely be installed on Friday.

I just bought 4 new tires for both my car and my sisters; compared walmart, sears, etc, and Tire Discounters was by far the best price, plus free alignment and all that jazz.
    Didnt think about craigslist though.

As said never use fix a flat. Tire plugs are dirt cheap and are an almost permanent solution. It's always better to get them patched from the inside but I've always used plugs and never had a problem with em

You can get some killer deals on craigslist though, I picked up a set of tires that are normally $800 for 4 for $200, they were only used on a project car to move around the shop

Glad I read this thread. Definitely going to toss the can of fix a flat I have in my trunk after reading some of these horror stories.

Only toss it if you plan on buying a plug kit, if you have arms like Tekki then you might need a fix a flat ( in LAST RESORT situation), plugging can require some strength since you need to create a hole big enough to insert the plug.

This. I've bought all my tires from Les Schwab over the years. I've also gone to a number of Les Schwabs over the years to get free rotation, pressure check, etc. While I'm there, I always ask if they recommend new tires, and 90% of the time they say no; they're not just trying to make a free sale. This is at a handful of different stores over the years, not one in particular. I would imagine you can find cheaper tires somewhere else, but I always recommend Les Schwab for tires.

Instead of creating a new thread, figured I'd ask my wheel question here. Looking to purchase some aftermarket wheels for my 02 Solara. Found the wheels in the thread below, which I really like and price is right.

Thing is, I know nothing about offset. The bolt patter is correct though for my car, but will these actually fit? I tried checking out a dedicated Solara website and they talk about having to "roll the fenders" if the offset isn't perfect. I have no clue what that means. Can I get some help on this?

If the offset is in or out too far you will have significant rubbing on the insides of the fenders and fenderliners if they are too offset you could even mess up the rim's on your suspension if it is too close or you don't have enough clearance.

The offset moves the position of the bolt holes. 0 offset will be exactly centered in the rim, anything else moves it closer to the lip or further from the lip. In this case, the bolt pattern is being brought closer to the lip meaning more the rim is going to be pushed further inside the wheel well. Post up on the Solara forums and ask if +50 offset is ok.
