The smallest things can seriously brighten your day, and mail day is usually followed up with big grins and shared candy and other shit, because maybe someone received a bigass box of their favorite candy from home and wants to share it with other guys; some receive a new game in the mail, and everyone hauls ass to go take turns playing it on the nearest TV (I suck at tekken vs street fighter, btw, but still fun nonetheless) . Guys get important mail from home forwarded to them.... some guys get the first taken pictures of a baby their wife just had, some get financial shit they've been anxiously waiting around for, and some get boxes full of stupid shit that friends back home or from the intarwebz sent as a gesture of goodwill. The little things make the biggest impact. I've seen guys go from "seriously, my chief says one more thing to me, and you'll be flying me to a brig" to "oh shit, i got pics of my new daughter, AND she sent me Mass Effect 3! Y'all wanna go play it?!"
