Side story that's not really relevant: I'm a server and tend to hang out with fellow coworkers a lot. Recently, we all went out and got drunk/high and decided to get food around 2/3AM as well at Ihop.

We stroll in there and sit down and shut up. We all kinda of looked at each other and were like: DONT MAKE THIS HARD, SHUT UP, SHUT UP. GOD DAMN IT BRIAN, WHY ARE YOU CHANGING YOUR ORDER? We kinda chatted about it and about how as servers we get this shit. We wouldn't wanna deal with ourselves drunk early in the morning. But, even pretty drunk we tried hard to be very polite and non-annoying/needy. Being pretty high made it hilarious, though.

As for altwight: Torn on this one. She was a complete bitch about how she handled it. What if you were wearing them because the hospital told you had to? I mean shit, if you had something covering your feet, she was just doing it to get rid of you, I think. I would call to speak with a manager. But that's just me.

As everyone else has said: A restaurant can refuse service for any reason. You would have gotten taken to jail by the cops for refusing to leave. Not to mention, drunk in public or something.

The comparison that always popped into my mind first was if someone had a fungal infection or something, would I want them to wear a sealed plastic bag or sandals. Of course, the correct answer is shoes.. but apparently that's not always an option. lol

no shoes policy isn't meant wholly for sanitary purposes, it's also for safety purposes. 'What if she had broke a glass and he stepped on it with his shoe covers?' The girls aren't wearing sheet thin cloth around their feet, but an actual sole that separates their bareskin from the ground, slippers or not.

Called corporate this morning and sorta exaggerated my story "a bit" (seriously was only slightly exaggerated) and they said this wasn't the first complaint about the same woman.

Was thoroughly pleased when I went in there late this evening to talk with the whoever was in charge at that time (wasn't the old lady) and found out she got fired around 2pm.

Apparently she's just a huge bitch to everyone from what the lady told me.

Anyway, GG to all of you people who suck.
