Ooh, awesome <3
Ooh, awesome <3
Will this end or ask long as someone ask you'll make one?
I'm interested but I need a job first before I buy up shit I don't need atm
That is awesome - I was thinking of adding Moogle and Cactuar hats to the mix. However, I don't want you to feel like I'm intruding on your turf x
Someone was making knitted moogles and other awesome things a few years ago. I put in a request for a knitted Black Mage and they disappeared into the night.
I shall take the first part of this statement as a lovely compliment ;D It's only a hobby and I tend to price things by what my UK customers are willing to pay. I've had one potential US customer tell me my stuff is too expensive (can't win, it seems). I aim to make my stuff 'cute', though not necessarily 'better', than the creations of others![]()
I still want to buy from you and I cut my afro, so now it may be entirely possible :D
converting to USD, looks like your Mandy hat went for $25 usd. Depending on how much shipping to the US of A is, I'd be interested in one of those if you were to make another
Hi CS, shipping to the US is 5GBP - if you're still interested in a hat, I'll have some open commission slots in a couple of weeks so I can add you to the backlog![]()
Alright sounds reasonable. With how my situation fluctuates though, I don't want to commit to anything and end up letting you down. That being said, I'll just keep on the backburner and try to scoop something else if someone else backs out of their obligation
Seriously? I was selling hats for US$60/ea inc postage from Australia. And I was up to my ears in commissions. You're selling yourself short. I know how much time these things take to make. Maybe you don't use super high quality yarns or something that cuts your costs (I used pure wool malabrigo, ugh acrylics) but I found it super depressing to think about the amount of time I spent making these things and have it work out to be less than $5/hr. People will pay for quality craftsmanship, if someone says you charge too much they don't know how much effort goes into them. And someone else will buy it and think it a bargain.
Anyway, food for thought, and since I'm not making them any more I can afford to pass on my wisdomMy thread is in this forum somewhere. In the end you're not just selling yourself short but other crafters too, and it devalues handmade things, generally.
I use acrylics. From what I've found by visiting craft fairs and so on, £16-£20 is usually what is charged for hats made with synthetic fibres. For the timebeing I'm not looking to make any changes to my prices.
