Why don't you just play ME3 and hold the line together?
i get that a lot
you deserve it bro
So you fell in love with FFXI while wailing on rabbits while afk?
When I first played it, I played in CBT2, played like 4 chars to 6-7. Didn't feel the need to even play it again until OBT, and then I got hooked. I'm not saying it is or it isn't because I've never played it before, but I'm not sure how you could say that something is or isn't a WoW clone by only playing 5-10 minutes of it...
I prob won't play it then, fuck a WoW clone. I'm not into that easy bullshit if I am playing a mmo. That is why i liked xi
I've never even played WoW, so I'm not sure what elements are being referenced when calling it a clone. I'd imagine it has something to do with the hotbar and UI layout.
The game makes XI look like tic-tac-toe difficulty-wise, though. It starts off very forgiving, and lets new players sort of ease into the combat mechanics (you don't fight real party monsters and dungeons till 20), but by 40-50 you're getting your ass handed to you if you don't know what you're doing. Dragons start summoning wraiths to shoot meteors into the arena, Demigods have their pet giant dogs puke lava across the floor, robot titans start activating sweeping laser cannons that actively track your movements. There's even a boss which summons Banelings to the field dozens at a time to chase you down and create mobile killing fields which you have to avoid.
I'm not half bad at games, I dare say, and I static with every other officer in BG aside from he-who-shall-not-be-named, and we've certainly full wiped before on the 45+ dungeons. I've yet to actually beat a Hard mode dungeon, too (though this is partly due to only attempting them a couple of times because they facerolled us so hard). I'm not really sure how WoW combat goes, but the thing with TERA is everything is reflex-based. There is no accuracy or evasion stat. If you need to dodge something, you dodge it. If you dodge wrong, you get smashed. If you don't block when you need to block, you get smashed.
I'll try an upload an example vid of my Berserker taking on a Frost Giant (party monster) that's a level higher than me if youtube will stop being gay. The few times I screw up and let myself get hit, I lose like 50% of my life. Berserker's a very slow, heavy armor DPS though, so it's probably not as exciting as Warrior (think Ninja) soloing. The big difference between FFXI's Ninja and TERA's Warrior (dual swords, evasion tank, etc) is that FFXI NIN requires stacking evasion/haste, counting to 4, and hitting a macro, while TERA Warrior requires actually jumping out of the way of attacks.
Definitely not easier than FFXI. It's a wow clone as far as visuals I guess, but I've never played WoW so I have no idea what aspects would be similar. The combat is fucking amazing though, and that's one of, if not, the biggest aspects of an MMO. It's unique to anything I've ever played before.
Good Warrior tanks are fucking awesome to play with, though. A friend of mine from XI tanks for our static on Warrior, and it's pretty great. Things die faster when you have the added DPS, and it's one less person to lot against for heavy armor. It takes a bit to learn how all the different boss types work, though. Fortunately for new Warriors, they only really re-use the same dozen or so until 45-50. After that, they start adding a ton of unique boss types so you have to learn their cues and movement patterns from scratch.
I just fought a boss last night which was like a giant, metal Sonic the hedgehog and when he first used his spin dash both me and the Slayer died horribly. In hindsight, I really should have expected a move like that.
I'd be better if I didn't fucking use a trackpadI need to go to walmart asap
WoW is an EQ clone. True story.
I totally didn't realize it would be playing my Beatles in the video. Oh well, too lazy to change.
Yeah I think I'll stick to slayer for my alt... using the same move over and over seems boring to me![]()
Yeah. Berserker has a lot more moves, it's just that they're all really slow and tend to either eat my HP or lower my defense. It really only gets to shine when you have a tank and a healer there to make sure you don't get whaled on while dishing out the big damage.
