WotG's story and graphical engine utilization were top notch. WotG's delivery (hi 3 year expansion) and endgame content were shit tier, the former contributing a great deal to the expansion's general lack of appreciation. It's frustrating trying to keep a story intact when you have to wait 6 months to a year between missions.
In general, WotG really just failed at delivering the best parts of the expansion to the masses. SCNMs were really fun, but no one outside of the handful of huge, active event shells still operating in 2009 ever did them. Practically no one bothered to remember the story because it took so long to tell. The Shadowrealm in general was kind of a pain in the ass to travel to and didn't lend itself to idling/HomePointing because it lacked Auction houses and a central Hub city like Jeuno/Whitegate.
WotG overall could have been implemented a lot better.
Oh yeah, and restricting access to awesome as fuck fights like lux pugio based on your server's campaign status. Fuuuuuck that. When you have a badass boss fight, you want to show it off, not make it so that you have to have an entire server essentially in sync for a week just to gain access. Hats off to the few, the proud, the nolifers who were able to grind the fuck out of campaign and gain server access from time to time.
People still play FFXI? That shit was terrible.
Do you understand what pretty much is? Regardless, I said the exact same thing as you. Come to think of it, why the fuck was I up at 6am.
Where did I say that was instant slander? I specifically said I wouldn't know since I've never played WoW.
Reading it? He's jerking off to it as we speak.
