I just don't understand it personally. You can usually get an A or B just by going to class and studying the night before exams. Less effort than that is pathetic considering you are paying to take the class.

For my history class (freshman year), was early in the morning (huge mistake in the first place), then we had 2 grades, terrible teacher and then her husband had cardiac surgery so the whole last 10 weeks involved going to class once a week instead of 3, not learning anything in class and then expected to take a midterm and final. While obviously I never like to blame the teacher for me doing bad, but that shit was just stupid. Intro to psych was just general not-giving-a-fuck, didn't do two assignments, got Bs on the test but that brought me down. My other C was an online course... which I've learned I just can't take online courses, obv my fault etc.

Believe me, I'm far more pissed off about the B+ in genetics rather than I am about the C+ in intro so sociology or intro to psychology. Shit's infuriating because I've done well on all the tests and stuff ~.~ All without studying too, lol. Whatever man.

How do you not do well in online courses? o.o I don't like them because I like lectures (odd, I know), but I still found that the few I took were the easiest A's I've gotten. All the quizzes/tests were online, and I'm just not honest enough to do a "closed book" test without one if it's online, but then again, those tests asked for some of the most specific answers, so they knew.

It's because of the way I learn, and assignments. I learn 90% of the information for tests just by attending classes. I can study for an hour max afterwards and pull 90s on tests easily. With online courses, I just forget about them, and I just don't absorb the material as well as I would if I were attending classes, not to mention I find sociology extremely boring, making it hard to go over all the material. Iirc, my tests grades were fine, it was just my forgetfulness in doing the "discussion" assignments due that week. I got a B+ in biomedical ethics online, but I really really enjoyed the class so that's probably why I did well in it.

Seriously, go watch the suicide tourist documentary, it was pretty interesting.

That's pretty much what happened to me as well. I took 2 online courses on one semester because I thought it seemed easy enough and borderline unnecessary prereqs (some bullshit computer class that teaches how to use basic computer program like the microsoft office and some accounting which I wasn't plan on majoring in)

I ended up scraping a B on both of them due missing most of the computer class' assignment deadlines because of the banality of the entire thing, and just getting incredibly fucked over by the major project on the accounting class.

I had to do a group project on that class, which was just nerve wracking because it's hard enough to keep your group member in line when you regularly meet them in person and can threaten bodily harm, make that an online group project, and I was ready to throw in the towel by mid-semester.

Swore off online courses ever since.
