Sentai Filmworks' Persona 4 BD Release Will Omit Japanese Audio Track
Well shit, so much for buying anime from these guys ever.
What is it with Persona and region locks?
Why the fuck would any company let Japan talk them into that? It's a stupidly terrible business decision.
"Hurr let's release an anime here but not include the Japanese track, thereby cutting our buyers in half"
I really want to know why the Japanese licensor required that change (and why the DVDs weren't affected).
aughhh.

Their reasoning appears to be "Japanese fans buy this this up in the tens of thousands, at JPY7500 and up for 3 episodes. Meanwhile, North American fans tend to get entire seasons on a single disc, at less than USD$40. But they're both the same content region, so let's fuck the North Americans over so that our Japanese fans can't reverse-import."
It's incredibly short-sighted and only encourages north american fans to pirate their wares, but it is the only explanation that really makes sense to me.
Wait, releases here are region-free? I guess it's probably not too hard anymore to hack hardware into being non-region-specific though (but I have no idea really).
That does make sense though. 1-2 episode per disc has always been bullshit.
For BD releases, Japan and North America share a region. This means that distributors are incredibly sensitive to fluctuations in currency value (partially the justification for regional locks in the first place). It's nevertheless easy to cross that line where you've stomped all over the wishes and rights of your consumers in the name of protecting your IP, costing you money in the longer term.
The reason this decision doesn't affect the DVD releases is that in that format's region control system, Japan and North America are in different regions.
Hagure Yuusha is turning into a guilty pleasure of mine, tits everywhere, but I can't help loving Jack Rakan/Rance as a the protagonist.
Having Kuroneko in it is just gravy
natsuyuki so good! now I have to wait another week /sigh..

Give it time. Knowing you there'll be something to find lol
Thinking I'm going to drop Binbougami, it's just not as funny as it thinks it is. I like the premise of fortune vs misfortune but honestly the humor isn't that good. Normally I love anime that references everything and I thought this would fill the Gintama/Haiyore Nyaruko-san void but it's not, and I am disappointAnyone else feeling like that?
Dog Days, on the other hand, is becoming more enjoyable than I thought it would be >_> God I hate myself sometimes.
Sword Art Online Ep 5
This episode was really good. I think with each passing episode we get a more definitive characterization of the main cast. We get to see what differentiates each of these characters as well as the cracks beneath their outer appearance.
