I don't think the particular zone at Terminus entrance in Desolate Sands equates at all to cheesy super uniques at waypoints. Town is town and the field is the field (usually XD) It's dangerous out there, etc. Mio even said lesson learnt and all. It sucks, but it's also awesome. He had a great first HC hero, real nice run, and had the fortune to die a good death and learn.

It's when you die and can take very little from it that frustration even begins to creep up, at least for me.

My build was feeling pretty good at:

Deadly Reach - Keen Eye (boosts armor)
Wave of Light - Explosive Light (good crowd damage and knocks everything back)
Serenity - Peaceful Repose (my oh-shit button for healing + surviving)
Sweeping Wind - Blade Storm (great DoT for anything attacking me)
Seven-Sided Strike - Sudden Assault (temporary invulnerability and teleport + decent damage)
Mantra of Evasion - Backlash (I love this rune)

It was so satisfying to see a massive crowd of mobs, run straight into the middle of it with Mantra of Evasion on and Sweeping Wind. Survive the first couple of seconds while building up crits for Sweeping Wind, then hit Serenity to heal and become invincible, then watch your Sweeping Wind and Backlash kill everything near you in no time flat. Then use Wave of Light or Seven-Sided Strike to get out if it gets too hairy and kite until Serenity is up again.

My passives were Resolve + Seize the Initiative + Sixth Sense.

Then I replaced Sixth Sense with One with Everything.

Then I replaced Resolve with Near Death Experience.

When the lesson boils down to "don't use a game feature!" then, yes, I'd say Blizz needs to learn from it. WPs are meant to speed transit between locations, not occasionally be a death trap because some dice decide it so.

What game feature to not use? Resume Game you mean? Know full well Mio's death really has nothing to do with a waypoint. A checkpoint, maybe, but not a waypoint.. just wanted to redundantly clarify. XD

I think it's a great feature; just use it with caution and full understanding of its ramifications.

Wiz back to 45...halfway through A3 nm. This game is pretty fun, I think this makes 8 characters at least in nightmare and beyond.

When I get around to it I might just shower the HC players with mediocre rares I get from A1 inferno that won't sell or I have too much shit to ditch to help all you who are recovering from a death and whatnot.

I know it sucks tho when you die and lose all that progress so it's the least I could do.

Nuh uh. I'm giving away shit you can do the work and friend me!

Although as of late it might be a little while with work/school/gf and not wanting to play at peak hours or with the server taking numerous shits.
