Game is basically dead to me. I've seen smarter design choices in ffxiv. Devs don't know what they're doing and are are turning the game into complete shit. I'll probably hop on every now and then to play hardcore but that's it. Incredibly disappointed with how everything is turning out. Maybe in a few months it'll be better and I'll come back.
All we need to do is look back at the town portal system that got changed 4 times, until going back to the original concept, it's true they have no idea what they're doing lol. Wouldn't surprise me if we download a patch in the near future that adds a stamina meter, and removes the rune system in favor of skill tree system like D2, and then three patches later removes it back to original concept.
I keep hoping I'll find something that I can sell on the RMAH for $200 or more so I can quit and feel accomplished. I've put in about 150 hours total across 5 characters and I just feel like there is nothing else to push for. They WoW-itized (if I may) the Diablo series with D3 and made it only matter when you hit 60 (for end game). The loot is simplified without any cool characteristics...just more gooderer like in WoW where you focus main stat > Vit > LoH/Crit and ya done. If anything, it's a good dry run for Blizzard's RMAH scheme which I feel will almost certainly be in their next MMO. I was hopeful for Guild Wars 2 but having not played WoW in 3-4 months now, I don't know if I can ever go back to a MMO world where I have to commit to raid times etc. The freedom to pick up and put down games is far too advantageous for me at this point in my life.
The biggest "huh?" to me, now that the portal system was brought up, is white/grey items. They serve no purpose. Quite literally wasted space on my HD. no one is going to hold onto them to vendor for 7g. In the beta, you could salvage them, and you had a pot you carried in your character sheet you could salvage on the fly. now? we have...this. Sorry guys, got a ton of blues to vendor/salvage, brb.
Dumb.
yeah they really shouldn't even exist in later difficulties. it's really annoying that i have to pick them all up just to clear kiting space for myself. wish they would have put that filter out in 1.03, but i am worried even though their labels are off you'll still be able to pick them up by clicking on them.
White items were at least worth something in d2. If you could get a socketed item of the right base and the right number of sockets you could trade it for a decent amount. Socketed eth items for your merc or for indestructible runewords sometimes made it worth it to say fuck mf.
And /nopickup was a godsend. Do you know how annoying it is to hold tab, click on an item name that's on the bottom, and then end up picking up an item that was higher up because the items clickbox was slightly below the other items name? ffffffuuuuuu
white items were worth a lot in D2 if they were staves or had enchants on them. It was great getting necro wands with a bunch of curses on them, because they sold for max gold to the NPC, which wasn't even that much anyway by the time you got to hell. They literally serve no purpose in this game. 6 gold for a hell item? Seriously? Why don't you fucking drop them off at town and outfit the local guard with them, since the NPCs are selling blues for 5k but selling whites for 25 bucks.
Thing is, all the socketed/enchanted items described above in D3 would be blues at least. Any socketed item in D3 is blue. Basically whites are useless and annoying because you might accidentally pick one up and have to drop them. Waste of time past level 5.
It's amazing that they couldn't bother to scale the value of whites to any reasonable degree.
Lv.5 white: 2 gold
Lv.59 white: 7 gold
WAT.
I still hate I can't get anything for smashing pots lol. My OCD demands reward!
Even before runewords there was still an imbue quest in D2 that made white items useful even in classic D2. You would find a white lance or executioner sword and throw it at charsi to see if she could make you something godly. In LoD she can roll some kick ass tiara's and shit.
Thats one thing that is missing in D3, quests that gave you awesome rewards like the black book(5 stats), perma health pot from alkor, skillpoint quests etc.
I'd have been content with D3 if it was nothing more than d2, re-skinned and tweaked a little bit :/
Horrible rubberbanding tonight. holy damn.
Been looking at white items lately and seeing tons of ilvl 63 white items like the one i looked an it had 667 DPS with 16% attack speed on it. Didnt even think atk speed went this high on weapons anymore....lol
+1. Stopped playing for a week now since every time I log on I get some bullshit rubberbanding on my first pack of elites. I had no problem at all with lag until this week yet now I can't even play for a few minutes without my character warping back uncontrollably every time I move.
Post patch Ghom is hard D:
