One of the problem is the lack of Speccing. In Diablo 2, you have to specialize in certain ways to maximize your build. Since Diablo 3 hold my god damn hands and give me every possible kills, I felt detachment from my character.

The second thing is the lack of reward in lower area. Just buy a helm of socket, get a Ruby and then mindless grind to 60.

I can go on and on about all the flaws but that is like beating a deadhorse. Even though I made 400 dollars from RMAH, but I truly wish that Diablo 3 was better than its current form.

D2's skill system wasn't automagically better just because you were locked into choices. Until synergies were added late in the game's life, it was pretty much just "sit on skill points until you're the right level for shit" which was pretty fucking boring. Either way, both games suffered from skills that are mechanically inferior. D2 tried to address this a bit with the mentioned synergies, but it wasn't like you were gonna main Frost Bolt over Frozen Orb with both maxed. You're gonna use Orb, and you're gonna like it. D3 doesn't really have this option, but instead needs to address mechanics or raw numbers to help outweigh the flaws of said mechanics. The NV obsession doesn't help with this. If you've got an AoE skill that can hit 5 targets easily enough, you need ST skills that hit 5x harder to keep kill times similar with different pros and cons to them. I'm not fond of a lot of the "resource spenders" in DH/Barb/Monk because they seem outright inferior to some of the stronger builders. Wizard skills like Meteor will always be iffy because their damage isn't instant with aiming being a bit more difficult.

Still, they're problems that can be fixed, and not in the "NERF ALL THE GOOD SHIT!" way. If it means changing animations, completely redoing a rune's effects, or whatever... do it. But right now, the system looks a lot like FFXI's merit system. There are good choices, then there's "wtf are you dumb?!" choices.

Anecdotal, but it feels like yellow ilv63 took a nosedive in droprate. Not getting anything compared to my last few days worth of runs today. Still getting many trashy blue/whites though.

    I've come to a conclusion:

Farming in D2 was like going to the bar, sometimes you will find a woman to have a 1 night stand. You didn't always hit a home run but you would find some nice ladies and every once in a while you'd get a smoking hot woman to sleep with that blows your mind which gives you hope to keep going to that same bar.

Farming in D3 is like being trapped in a 3x3 shower chained to the floor, with Jerry Sandusky. There is absolutely no hope, you're going to get it in the ass and there isn't a fucking thing you can do about it.

I'm weak ass WD. I understand that. I do not deserve to load into insta-death as I spam spirit walk with sw talent that does not proc even though it is 100% proc rate. Lag destroys the fabric of this game. It is designed to not operate without it...

And, jebus christ, elites don't get to both insta-cast death debuff and mortar 2-shot you from off-screen. FFS nothing should effect you from off screen unless you can zoom out enough to see them.

WD is so bad in its current state that playing any other class makes the game a whole lot better. You're going to have to put serious effort into the class and then have to double it compared to every other class.

I'm still not experiencing a lot of lag on this game. It actually runs smoother for me than D2 and I play on my wife's iMac. I have tried playing during peak hours and the only lag I experienced was when Firefox was downloading an update (which eats the GPU up like nothing else).

I do die a lot still though. Anything mortar kills me quickly even though I've gotten a hell of a lot better at dodging (lvl 55 DH Glass build). Caltrops stopped being effective once I got to A2 Hell when anything spawns Fast. They run over that shit without hesitating and I result to dirty tactics and map hangups to gun them down and hope I can get a lucky SP off to toe-to-toe tank a kill. The difficulty is kinda lame in this game. I purchased a harder hitting bow at level 50 and ran over nightmare and A1 Hell like it was nothing. A2 and I die every day at least once. I did make some good money though selling a few low level legendary weapons that were pretty close to perfect.

heh, you're gonna have to come up with some real good adjustments cause if you think a2 hell is bad for a 1-shot DH, wait till you get to inferno.

fortunately there are some good builds to follow that will make your life easier once you're 60. i threw caltrops under the bus for a while as well but now i've come back to using it extensively. in inferno you'll need to re-evaluate most DH skills because it's a completely different game for a glasscannon DH.

Too bad there's nothing any 1-shot glass cannon can do to prepare for getting hosed from off-screen by a savage beast, corrupted angel, vortex, mortar, etc.

well, a GC DH should have little to no problems with vortex or mortars. but yeah stuff like corrupted angels and those red demons in A4 are real nasty. that said, balanced DH builds are far more optimal post 1.03 anyway.

Glass cannon DH is going to make you go crazy on Inferno when 80-90% of the champ packs WILL have the reflect damage affix. You will need either absurd life on hit or Shadow Power: Gloom skill. I would suggest getting some resist, you're going to die, a lot. Interesting fact that I found is Mortar is physical damage.

Whenever I get vortexed or teleport, I drop a Caltrops everytime. I run with DW hand bows. One with LOH and chill and the other with leech and crit damage. Only time I die is in boss fights and cheap off screen moves.

Joined a public game for inferno GHOM on monk just for the lulz and wow. Everyone but the DH died, I died last around 30%HP and the DH was just straight up bossing him, he stood in the cloud, kept traps up, throwing green grenades and had absurd life on hit. I don't think the DH ever went below 90% hp and stood in the cloud the entire time.

I wish there was a bit more to do outside of the main quest. I understand that diablo, diablo 2 both followed the same kind of linear story system, but doing the same quests over and over is really starting to get stale.

I get the impression people through this whole page have severely underestimated smokescreen. It's pretty much how DH works, everything you do basically should be based around it.

Yeah DH gets just retarded life on hit numbers with a few different abilities, but you do need to have like 1500+ to make good use of it. You also can like almost never move or anything when you're doing tough shit with that build because if the life stops coming in you die near instantly.
