For people that hate FFXI original font like me. Original FFXI View ROM/119/51.DAT still works and doesn't crash the game I think the file only contains minor UI things, fonts and cursor and what not.

The new event equipment crashes Spellcast. Updating resources didn't do the trick, so probably just need to wait for a new one to be released.

Whenever I take a screenshot (windower) it'll like take the pic, lag for a few seconds then crash POL. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

After running file checker in POL and downloading the update here and copying them to my ffxi folder I still can't login.

Played without weather and shadow effects for as long as I can remember. My macro issue is 99% certain to be directly tied to SE's ctrl/alt "fix".

A solution for all you people like me having slight lag issues with macros.

Go to the FFXI View thread on the windower forums and download the link to update the fonts/macro bar. Stuff works like before. Having zero issues on Dnc right now.

It was simple, but one of the guys on the last page updated just the fonts AND added in the Square versions of the icons so people who borked it from installing FFXI view after the update have a fix now too.

I've done this, it works fine.


Edit: judging by my own thread and other people's threads on the OF, I think it's safe to say SE broke something for Windows (Vista and 7) users with their macro update.

I'm having zero issues with my macros and they're behaving exactly as before. I'm on Windows 7. I did the FFXI View fix before I even touched my macros, so I have no idea if that's related. It isn't a universal problem, in any event.

So did I. No idea then, why this is happening to me and apparently quite a few other people aswell, but it was absolutely horrible yesterday during voidwatch and legion and made me want to throw my keyboard out of the window. People died because my cure macros just wouldn't go off.

well for one, curing is a lot easier with spellcast and aliases. I play whm through doing that.

The macro shit is still a problem though. I don't use XI view, is there a solution to make the game not suck through windower? That was my concern before - that in situations with more lag it would become nearly impossible to function using macros.

Posting this here because I consider it to be a break after this last update. I'm not sure what's going on, but since just before the emergency maintenance and after, every time I've tried to load up in Southern San d'Oria, Windower crashes on me just before the screen loads. And now that I'm there, I literally cannot log in at the moment, because it crashes just before the black screen fades out.

Is it a windower issue? I haven't seen anything on the Windower site's news, but I wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing a similar issue.

Edit: FINALLY got in after about five tries, but now Spellcast is borked and keeps giving me a fatal error: "Error: Access violation in OutgoingText method.". Ken is sad.

Unequip any new event gear if you're wearing it, or update your resources (https://github.com/radectheblm/Radsources) - I have the same issue when using the event gear in unison with spellcast.

It seems it was the Decennial gear for both issues. After removing it, not only did Spellcast work but I was able to log in and out several times successfully without crashing. If it weren't SE, I'd say that it was a cleverly planned Windower trap! [/sarcasm]

So the whole having to hit the escape button to back out of macro palettes instead of being able to just hit the macro button a second time a "feature" or a bug? Because it's pissing me off. it's almost gotten me killed a few times.

It's a bug, but it should only be affecting gamepads. If you're using a gamepad you can hit your cancel button instead of escape.

I agree that it's super annoying though.

Yeah that's what im doing. pc with a shitty logitech gamepad. Hope they're aware of it at least.

edit: nvm! logged out, logged back in, there was a tiny update, and it's fixed! woot!
