That dragon looks like a grown-up eft from 11.
They need to bring me my pink birds to grind on so I can feel at home in 14 though!
Unless they plan on implementing a real "elite" mob system, I don't see anything like BAMs in the near future.
Well as long as it's not anything like HNM V2 I don't mind much. I have no faith SE would get those right.
Based on Yellow Dragon from FFIV me thinks

It was found in the Lunar Dungeon so my guess is this incarnation will end up being a Raid Boss. Also it absorbs and casts lightning spells!
The concept art revealed so far and some of the 2.0 info we have (crystal tower, etc) makes me believe that they are making FFXIV 2.0 more into a homage to all Final Fantasies like Final Fantasy 9 was. Which is how I believe they should have done it from the beginning.
It's stupid of them to pass up the billions of opportunities they constantly have to reference/homage/easteregg/etc. from the endless library of Final Fantasy IP. I'm glad Yoshi is finally getting on that shit.
unsure if we all get the same question but NA seems to be the only community to have answered all the questions so far
Think of it like a field of behemoths, each one tough as hell to kill with a good amount of exp/loot per. I always thought it was a waste in XI that we had only one behemoth, one of their most iconic beasts, a day for years until they added them to a wing in Limbus.
FFXII also had a lot of references to past numbered entries and Ivalice universe games whether it be bestiary lore, boss names and background, or Easter eggs. That game was homage galore.
Would be interesting. I'm kinda hoping these mobs are kind of like that Lunar event from FF8 myself (Forgot the name of it, big assed stream of mobs from the moon hit that one city when you hit there). Or some kind of tiered instance similar to Limbus.
Lunar Cry.
I wonder how much the 2.0 rehaul was based on storyline already planned for the game prior.
ie. was the original plan for us to stop meteor? was meteor involved at all?
I'm having a hard time remembering the details of the main storyline missions as far as the ancient Ala. device and how specific they were about what it was. I know there was no reference to meteor prior to the content released after the handoff to the new team and the 2.0 meteor fall event plan came together. I can only assume the "device" was originally related to the big catastrophe in the opening CS that blasted Mor Dhona to hell.
Speaking of, how much of the events of the opening CS do we actually know about? Is it going to be built upon with the plans for the future story? It's obvious from the CS that the big....event thing that happened released the primals but it's not really clear how or what actually happened. It's clear that the wyverns were after the Garlean ships and after the huge juggernaut crashes all the primals come out (and Jorm* dies).
*I remember someone referring to the big dragon as Jorm at some point, don't remember where or if there's any veracity to it, but I've just gone with for simplicity.
Were the primals contained by the Garleans in the huge ship (restrain/harness their power)? Was the big event caused by Jorm's death or something in the ship (the Ala Mighan device)? Is Jorm a primal or are he and the other wyverns something else?
Is any of this going to be clarified in the future or are they just going to retroactively change the details to fall in line with the new story?
^they said that the starting cutscenes will be changed. I think the original story line maybe scrapped completely and what we witnessed pre 2.0 with company missions maybe basically a replacement for that.
2.0 world will be post meteor so I think they have another large set of missions planned with maybe power of the echo used to witness what we seen.
I'm actually disappointed, I really wanted to know what in the fuck was going on in that CS and the dragon skeleton and derelict ship have been the most interesting piece of landscape since the game's beginning.
Yeah, that is something I've wanted to learn more about... I've also wondered about that undead thing you see in one of the cutscenes that everyone is so scared of... what was it called? I can't even remember, but they made it seem like it was going to be a super huge deal and then it never showed up again.
Not sure what you're referring to, the Sahagin?
Think he's probably referring to the Ascian that appears during the final CS of "Toll of the Warden".
Next major patch mentions content revolving around the Twelve. I'm curious if they will play a significant part in the future story.
I really wanted to know wtf is with the ship also, it's gonna be a same if they scrap that completely since it's been a most significant 14 landmark.
