    so it's been 2 weeks or so since the 1.03 patch. have other DH'ers around here settled on any builds?

    i want to go back to using NT but i only have about 50-60k DPS depending on skills and it's just not enough punch. if i could get up to 90k or so i assume virtually any build would work. so for my damage range i feel like CA/CB has been my best bet. how about you guys?

    i find this build suits me best :

    vault/smoke screen/preparation/stampede/hungering arrow/ball lightning.

    passives are = archery/steady aim/tactical advantage.

    Spray of teeth as primary with a crit build and CA/CB has been working well for me. Spray of teeth is really strong if you have around 50% crit rate, and you will be getting a ton of discipline back if you use that one passive. Everything else standard cookiecutter abilities, alternating between crit rate/damage caltrops.

    I used 1h xbow with crit chance stacking and Crit damage from weapon socket.

    Hungering Arrow / Devouring Arrow = very reliable hatred regen and very good dps
    Cluster Arrow / Loaded for Bear = some use Cluster Bomb but I like Loaded for Bear better.

    Smokescreen
    Marked of Death / Mortal Enemy
    Caltrops
    Prepartion

    Steady Aim / Archery / Sharpshooter

    For co-op, Spray of teeth/cluster bombs 1.Caltrops 2. SS 3. Bat 4. Prep Sharpshooter, archery, grenadier.

    Thinking about using skulls and nightstalker also. Or Frost arrow if wizard in group.

    Still working on solo build.

    I'm using that ridiculously op xbow still til I get paypal worked out with my bank, so my dmg is kinda nuts, but here's the build I've been using:

    1. Bat, Spider for diablo and similar serious kitefests
    2. Prep with backup plan
    3. SS/Lingering
    4. Rain of Arrows with the knockback glyph, it's basically like a 6 second SS on anything that can be knocked around
    L: Entangling, lately I've been using the heal glyph cuz it makes reflect dmg a bit less painful, but I switch around depending what I'm doing
    R: Ball lightning, it's basically old NT without the heal and a bit less dmg.

    Passives are Steady Aim, Archery, Sharpshooter. I drop archery for Tactical Advantage when I'm doing shit I need it for.

    I use hungering arrow for some stuff, namely shit like diablo so I can run around and shoot offscreen and still know I'm going to hit, but I'm pretty comfortable with BL being both my main aoe and my main single target dmg.

    To my fellow wizards out there; it was worked out that the tooltip on the "cold blooded" passive is worded wrong. It really does increases ALL your damage by 20% to chilled/frozen targets. Between glass cannon + cold blodded + venom hydra shit just melts.

    btw i'm pretty sure i've finally found the right build, at least for what i do which is A3 solo. i'm using

    entangling arrow/justice is served
    cluster arrow/cluster bombs
    bat
    prep/backup
    smoke/fog
    shadow power/gloom

    passives:
    grenadier
    vengeance
    archery

    basically, DH's worst problem is reflect damage. our best counter is sp/gloom, but to get that in i had to drop caltrops out of my caltrops/ss/bat/prep lineup. and without trops, even if i'd roll over everything else i'd get chased down by anything with fast speed and always phasebeasts. however having EA to "replace" trops let me move shadow power back in, and the double hate from the justice is served rune makes CA/CB recover much faster. i used HA religiously but the extra hatred generation definitely makes up for it dropping it. justice is served has a near perfect synergy with CA/CB.

    as a result i've had the smoothest runs by FAR of any build i've used since pre-nerf. i've stomped on virtually every kind of A3 pack out there, from fast moving lashers to the retarded (have to be bugged) superspeed demonic terrors. the lone exception that i've skipped so far has been a fast/teleport/reflect/vortex phasebeast pack. i can't imagine going to a different build unless i get my damage up to the 100k mark so this works out great for me. if i get tanky enough (got about 37k hp, hoping to hit 50) then i'm gonna consider swapping smoke out and putting trops back in for more efficient kiting.

    that said, i have pretty good crit chance and crit dmg, 38/250 respectively. but if you can get in the ballpark i really recommend trying the entire build out.

    Get 10-15 extra max discipline so you get 6 consecutive guaranteed SS without backup plan procs and you don't need shadow power at all.

    I'm generally doing tower of the cursed 1 through cydea to azmo runs, and if I weren't intentionally dying to pin shit for easy magic find swapping I'd almost never die outside of temporary retardation moments.

    well yeah an extra 10-15 outside of body/quiver is easier said than done. a good hellcat waistband is really expensive, and i don't think frostburns come with a lot of great DH stats, though i could be wrong. the amulet and soj are going to be profoundly expensive as well if they've got DH stats.

    You can get 10 each on quiver and body. Currently I'm running I believe a quiver with 8 and a body with 6. Plenty to make for 6x SS + procs.

    I almost feel a little dirty when I run into a really nasty reflect + whatever pack that also happens to be a spearfucker or something else with low hp and burn them down in under 20 sec without moving.

    yeah i'm saying the extras outside of the 20 you get on body/quiver are very difficult to get.

    devo arrow, ball lightning, ss, vault, prep (battle scars), bat.
    Using night stalker(+ disc on crits) archery and steady aim.

    Spray of teeth isn't as good single target as devouring arrow, and if you have ball lightning, you have your aoe covered regardless. Ball lightning works well on slow/stationary targets, however if something is moving at you quickly, it'll only do half of its normal damage: 77% (each hit is 77%, it tends to hit twice to do the 154/155ish stated). While cluster/loaded for bear is good immediate damage, it doesn't have the sustained aoe potential as ball lightning (since you can shoot 2-3, then you're done...anything you missed needs to be killed without hatred). In order for spray of teeth to match devo arrow you need something like 88% passive crit or something.

    Mark of death hatred version won't work with ball lightning, unfortunately...however night stalker does. Since it's a multiple hitting attack, you tend to get disc rather quickly with a high crit%.

    So in the end this build gives: single target (devo arrow) aoe (ball lightning) survivability (ss) mobility (vault) sustainability (night stalker for disc, bat for hatred) a self heal (battle scars)

    hrm yeah I'll have to give night stalker a try, I'm almost 45% before ss

    backup plan is imba tho, even at 1 in 3 it's worth way, way more than half your hp

    Back when I had a way to heal (ie; nether tentacles) I'd agree. Now that I'm tanky as fuck? I'll take my 60% heal to live through another 2 hits. This is especially helpful against reflect mobs.

    a backup plan proc will keep you doing shit for a whole lot longer than 2 hits >.> especially against reflect

    With my Barb creeping up into the mid-40s, I'm wondering what Fury spenders other are using since I haven't been too impressed with what I've tinkered with for now. Basically, I've found spamming Cleave with the explosion damage to be more effective than actually using the other finishers. Hell, I've found Revenge to be a better "finisher" even though its mechanic relies on triggering off hits. I'm sure this'll change with better gear later, but I am feeling kill speed slowing.

    for leveling rupture is insane, might as well just use the 25% dmg with max fury and not bother lol

    yeah I swapped out Superstition for Berserker Rage and never stopped using it. Dont really need a finisher when you 2shot all trash-mobs
    oh, and I swapped out all gear with dex on it to lower my dodge to get Revenge to proc more often (more hits = more heals)
