I got hired once for an IT job purely because I was female. It was pretty discouraging (they didn't tell me for a while; after they told me I worked there for a couple more months then quit); I certainly didn't feel valued for what I could do (which was way more than they wanted me to for the job).

p much. if i were to generalize to the rest of the population, i'd hypothesize that the pussy is power. in interpersonal relationships, having the pussy means having the power. as those who have pussies are innately endowed with power, they subsequently value power less than those who lack it. while those without pussies and thus without power may strive to better themselves and achieve power, those with the pussy and innate power are often forced to pursue self-improvement from different angles and with different (often less powerful) motivations.

when you remove the power of the pussy from the equation, as any fair and gender-neutral society must, women fall behind the curve. ironically, the visible discrepancy between woman's power in social situations and the workforce becomes due to the workforce being more fair and gender-neutral than social and interpersonal situations. in a fair society, one might even say that it's normal or expected for women to underperform in the workforce compared to men due to the motivational damper their interpersonal supremacy places on them.

Problem with 1-term limits is that then you don't get any long-term planning, all those things in the "too hard basket" stay there for the next guys to deal with. And so on. What you need is better accountability to the voting public, not to corps or people with big money. You need proper representation, with a non-partisan independent body that draws up the electoral boundaries, not leaving it to those in power to fiddle with boundaries so that they can win more next time, with completely ridiculous looking electoral wards. You need parties that actually work amongst themselves, not fight amongst themselves - not toeing the party line should be very difficult to do - not easily done for a bit of pork as it currently is. I could go on and on about this. I studied the US system back when I was 16, and its horribleness has haunted me ever since.

i dare say the state level is even worse than federal level government, though. this is often exacerbated by the fact that people tend to ignore state-level politics despite their significantly more direct impact on their daily lives.

The terms can be longer just need to be 1 term. If plans don't continue on it would be because people did not want them to continue on. There are many problems those were just quick fix examples. I'm fully aware of all the problems with my own country. I'm also aware I can't do shit about it because of the cyclical process that was thrown into motion years ago. Eventually everyone will be drained and Jersey shore and shit won't be on TV and people might finally start waking up. Gonna take a while though, most of us are occupied with world of warcraft and television.
