I would have lived my life happily without knowing that. Now I can't unknow that. You're a douche.
if you can read that without cringing or feeling squeamish, then you will never have a man license
Oy. Sorry I missed this.
1.) sammich/kitchen/steak&BJ jokes are funny when they're being used to mock people who are misogynist.
2.) white males have it on easy mode, sure: when they're fit, attractive, formally educated and financially aight. Otherwise meh. Fat white nerdy dudes have it rough. I'd rather be a nerdy, chubby girl than a fat nerdy white guy.
3.) I think the word privilege is overused. Stop fucking using it. Seriously. It's become a buzzword, like "synergy" and "obamacare".
Using the word privilege fast becoming a way for pseudo-intellectuals to make easy, cheap social criticisms without thinking critically or adding anything of value to the discussion. It's a cop out, kids. It kills any possibility for discourse between people from different backgrounds who face different challenges. "Check your privilege" and "white male privilege" and etc etc are all very quick ways to alienate whoever you're talking to, which accomplishes approximately zilch to increase understanding and cooperation between people from all all origins and walks of life. Saying "privilege" is a way to talk *at* someone, not *to* them - and it certainly does not encourage them to talk back *to* you, because it implies that you're not willing to halt your judgments in order to really listen to what they want to say.
Want to be a truly smart, open minded person? Strive for understanding. Learn more. Listen more. THINK more. Talk to people, and really listen to them. Eliminate the world privilege from your vocabulary. It kills discourse.
It is easily one of the most ignorant and overused words in today's vogue vocabulary.
