New desktop/laptop build and or advise

Ok computer too a shit other day and I ran to Walmart and bought this

I have 8 days to return it if I decide to basicly how much better of a computer could I build my self? Is it even worth the hassle of building one (never done it before but have a idea what I'm doing). Basic uses would be Internet sc2 ffxi and school work. Also torn on if I should just get a laptop instead for portability sence I don't do any heavy gaming. So what do you guys suggest and if build how much better would it be. Price range is 700 max but cheeper the better also I'd like to tri box xi w/o lag put a old shitty radeon and I still lag a bit

It'd be pretty hard to find a (new) laptop with an i5 and a discrete graphics card for under $700 (imo the minimum for gaming), and even if you do, you're not going to have a lot to choose from.

EDIT: I looked around on Amazon a little, this was the best I could find http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-AS...7627051&sr=1-8 , but do note that the GPU is really weak. Unless there are some special circumstances, I'd save up a little more (maybe until you had $1k) rather than being forced into buying a gaming laptop for $700.

I dont really need a gaming laptop Going this rought for school. I can play sc on fiences pc i guess. would a cheep laptop be able to be able to dual box xi on it. If not I can save up and just use my media pc for now but do Not really wanna drop a lot on one
