I'm no Wizard but Depth Diggers can have 2 sockets on top of a 200 INT roll.
Finally started playing Diablo III again, i quit after the IAS got the huge cut. I haven't found a single piece of gear since i resumed playing with IAS on it. Just bad luck so far, or are they far rarer?
Not many non-legendary gear with IAS on it... gloves, amulet, rings. But yea, it is kind of a rare affix.
Some questions regarding damage taken formula D3.
1) Does it go by this : Incoming damage xxx > Armor check > AR check > Final xxx?
2) Armor vs AR, how to balance between them? As DH, currently I have 3800 armor, and 400++ AR. What's the 'comfortable' values should I aim for in order to stay alive in MP8 and above?
I'm probably going to suck translating this formula over because I'd done it in TinyMUX as a quick reference command, but I at least know it works so you can try and reverse engineer my end result if the suggested formula doesn't pan out.
mlvl = Monster Level
A = Armor
R = Resist
D% = Damage reduction (Shrines, certain skills, gear mods, etc. in decimal value: 25% = 0.25)
A% = (((mlvl * 50) + A) / A)
R% = (((mlvl * 5) + R) / R)
Damage Received = (1 - ((1 - A%) * (1 - R%) * (1 - D%))
So, in a case of 3800 Armor and 400 AR with 0 mitigation against a level 63 mob, you get:
Target Level: 63
3800 Armor: 54.68%
400 Resist: 55.94%
0 Mitigation: 0%
Reduction: 80.03%
From there, you need to know the damage of the given mob's attack then multiply it by whatever MP value, which I think is 5% per level. But if something does 15k to you with the above, it'll originally be about 75000. Multipliers would probably go to that before mitigating. Personally, I'd say armor is the more important stat since it's basically All Resist in its own right, but trying to keep them at 10:1 will get you the steadiest results.
don't resists and armor both say straight up how much reduction they give, so that you can compare them directly?
Well the tool tip only says vs lvl60 mobs to start with, also like arus said, there's the multiplier damage for each MP lvl; Not too mention when comparing gears, you can see it gives how much protection, but how to translate that protection in terms of damage taken values?
Anyways, I have another question regarding AH bidding and refunds.
Assuming:
1) There's an X item with current bidding 5M with no buyouts,
2) That item should have worth around 30M,
So, if I bid that X item for 50M (To scare off the competitions) and in the end I win that particular bid. How much AH refunds will I get back? To be more specific how does the AH refunds work?
Buyers aren't going to see the current bid unless you bid within 5% of it or something (different for the person selling though). Say starting bid has 5M, when you begin to bid, you will see 5M*5% as the new price. And it will continue being current bid*5% until it is within the top bidders number.
You will receive the difference of your bid and the next highest bid as the refund. 50M and 35.6M and you get back 14.4M, 42M and you get back 8M, etc.
However, people with 2 accounts can easily circumvent this and keep bidding until they get within your bid, and just bid slightly lower than yours, in order to ensure they receive the most possible. Essentially making you pay nearly whatever you bid. So just a word of caution if it's a popular item like vile ward or the like. Don't plop down 50M unless that is what you're willing to throw at it, cause you might end up screwed.
Anyone wanna carry my friend and I for mp8~ ubers? We have 4 machines between the 2 of us :<

Sent you request if you still needed, np if you don't anymore.
I was wondering if any Monks out there could help me out on what pieces I should focus on getting next. I'm not worried about Ring2 because I have 3 machines and am just waiting to find someone to do high MP ubers with. In fact if anyone wants a pretty lackluster Monk or DH to do Ubers with I would love to tag along. The boots are just a placeholder from my DH right now because I am unsure as to what to get, I recognize that 2 piece Nats can actually be good but losing the VIT from ring/boots could be a real problem for me. The character is: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/F.../hero/17443791
If you're looking to work more DPS into your build, drop the inna's belt for witching hour, pick up a 101+ dex pair of nat's boots (hopefully with poi res or vit for you) and a nat's ring to get the 7% chc set bonus. Also, dropping the won khim lau for a 1k+ dps weapon with dex, a socket, and at least 1 out of chd, loh, and ls. The main thing is making sure both weapons have sockets and the highest emeralds you can afford in them. I remember when I moved up from the 80% gems to 100% gems in my weapons, it boosted my DPS by 8k unbuffed.
Additionally, if you are in need for more resist, dropping inna's vast expanse for blackthorne's surcoat is a decent trade-off, and they can get over 200 vit, plus dex, all resist, and 3 sockets on 1 coat, which is more resist, health, and dps provided the dex roll is high enough (since you can add 3 emeralds in for an extra ~120 dex on top of what's naturally rolled on it.)
I would say focus on completing the nat's set first as 7% chc is a large dps boost, and nat's isn't amazingly expensive these days. Then, I would work on getting a better weapon in place of won khim, followed by possibly upgrading your body/belt next unless you really don't want to lose the set bonus from Inna's. After those upgrades, working on picking up a decent vile ward, pair of trifecta gloves, and an amulet with 2 of the trifecta stats plus loh, dex, or avg dmg would be good, but those upgrades will require more gold, so focus on them last.
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/D.../hero/11233264 That's my monk's gear, although I recently moved gear back and fourth between my WD, so my 100% gem is missing from my EF, my witching hour with 60 poi res and 70+ dex isn't showing up, and my 100+ dex, chc,, as, avg dmg amulet is also not showing. Unbuffed I'm at near 129k dps fully geared atm though, and when I need to be more tanky, I have a pair of blackthorne's pants (currently equipped on my WD) to activate the 100 vit set bonus, boosting me over 43k hp.
Also: the only reason I have dashing strike on is to speed up the rate at which I finish farming or exp runs. On anything difficult, I swap that for the heal skill.
That helps a lot, thanks! The main thing I was worried about with the Nat's set is what I would lose trying to get it, but I managed to snag a few nice items off the AH this morning to boost my HP up so I'm not so scared of rocking Boots without HP. It looks like I can get a Nats ring for around 5m with Poison Res and decent VIT, but it'll lack average damage. Weapons have always confused me because I don't know how to value all the WKL extra lightning damage and stuff, it looks like I can get a 980~ DPS 1 hander with DEX+Socket+LS for around 5m though so maybe I'll give that a shot.
Long story short. I've just recently came back to play again, and while browsing the AH, i snatched a 2 sockets-manticore for 15m. Stats were around 1070 dps with 285dex, what the hell happened to the market? back then these would probably be worth around 100m or so?
most people got high lvl paragon now, so the mf is much higher than before.
Farming also became more efficient since you don't need to fit mf into your equip.
long story short, legs drop like candies now.
Fewer people playing due to boredom/hating the economy, too.
There's just such a wall, at least on hardcore, where you can have pretty adequate gear, but the jump to good gear is just so astronomical. Something like 30-40m per upgrade on the lower side of things.
I only just started again and my highest is only 14 paragon and i just don't want to grind for that much for those upgrades, so kinda just not playing a lot any more again.
Does LOH trigger on whirlwind hits and pings from the run like the wind tornadoes?
