I just use life steal and it works well since my DPS is like 175k. Never used LOH but I was thinking maybe it would be a nice addition if it triggered on the whirlwind hits. Not as worried about the mini tornadoes.

Is there any kind of nerfing to dodge in Inferno? Dodge can block any and all things right, including hits from arcane enchanted beams and desecraters? If that assumption is correct doesn't the warcry rune that grants a 15% bonus to dodge guarantee that you will be invincible against 15% of incoming damage?
From the DH perspective, Dodge just isn't something you can rely on. Additionally, stuff like desecrator or sentries function on multiple procs per second, so while you may be able to dodge one, you're still probably going to get smacked by multiple others. If anything, this only really stands out on frozen bursts that are one done. I've personally yet to dodge an explosion, though, but I also do my best to avoid them outright. Better to just gear to mitigate the hits you will take rather than hoping they'll miss. And as a barb, that shouldn't be too hard with STR going to Armor values, good passive, relatively inexpensive gear as the sole STR class.
Depends how much dodge you can get. I run 50-60% on my monk, and yeah, it's kind of a big deal.
I am running around 700 Dex on my SC Barb, squeezing in any dex I can find on gear without sacrificing other stats, and the dodge has been really noticable. Anytime I try a different build with like 200 or 300 Dex I can always notice I am getting owned a lot more. Which is why I was wondering that now with the impunity nerf if the dodge rune would be a better choice. Dodging 15% additional attacks seems pretty awesome. I'm playing HC now so pretty much looking for the best damage mitigation I can get.
Got this error message popping up now:
I know, I know. Playing on a mac, etc. But, how important is it to upgrade the OS and will something happen if I don't? Not supporting the current OS I'm assuming means I won't be able to get any patches from B-Net later. My wife is the Mac user (I use her Mac for D3 till my PC is up and running again) and she says there's mixed reviews on upgrading to the newest OS (think it's Mountain Lion). Some reviews stated it changes the layout completely and she doesn't like to change stuff she's just gotten used to. Any advice? This is a reminder that Mac OS X 10.6 has entered the end of life stage as an operating system for Diablo III. The game will continue to run for a limited time, however we encourage you to upgrade your operating system to OS X 10.8 as soon as possible (Mac OS X 10.7 at a minimum). Please refer to the system requirements here. For more information on how to upgrade your operating system, please see this article. For further explanation of our Macintosh operating system guidelines, please see this article.
Thinking about picking D3 back up, need some advice.
I literally hit 60 on my WD and DH and stopped playing in Inferno Act1. Have shittastic gear. Couple friends offered me some gold and I have some blizzard bucks left over. Should I play one of these two or pick something else up? My gear is terrible, what's most important to buy and should I burn through the gold or blizzard bucks first? Where do I start? What should I focus on doing?
Since the update today, gold is now 33 cents per TEN million... so unlike before, RMAH gold is now competitive with RMT websites (and it's safer).
You can literally gear any job with ~50-100M gold to do MP8+ (so a few bucks top lol).
WW barb remains the easiest spec to gear for and play as (and honestly it really is).
I think if you're ok with the idea of spending more money to play this game, then I'd go through the RMAH route with your blizzbucks. But I was told somewhere that it may take some time for it to reach you? DH is pretty damn fun with the calamity weapon... you feel almost like a machine gun with how fast your attack per second is.
My Barb isn't too low, and I always loved it so maybe I will pick that up. I just want to have fun instead of getting pissed off like I used to in Inferno. If a few bucks gets me that on barb it'll be worth it.
Inferno is super easy now unless you decide you want it to be harder and turn up the monster power.
Weird... I think they reverted it due to the catastrophic bug they allowed before taking it down for maint.
This was definitely in the patch notes:
The stack size for gold sales on the auction house has been increased from 1 million to 10 million
so either it was an oversight or they changed their minds.
For softcore, I just prioritize STR/VIT/attack speed/crit chance for starters. Vanilla crit% lacuni is cheap these days, and adding on VIT/AR/STR will increase it, so you can pick and choose how much you spend. Immortal king's body is pretty much the standard, and picking one with high VIT is desireable.
Add in crit dmg, armor/AR when gold allows.
Here's my modest barb to give you an idea:

How much have you spent on those BOA gears? So nice.
Over the course of a few months, I think I did around 600 essences. A few a day here and there is good enough to get you some pretty snazzy gear.
Amulet took me over 300 tries to get my current amulet, and even then, it was like -5k DPS from my other amulet... but I stuck with my current one since IAS is so addicting!
It's a temporary thing:
> 5/10/13 8:10 p.m. PDT: Maintenance has concluded, and both the gold and real-money Auction Houses are now live. Gold trades have also been reactivated. Please note that we have temporarily reverted the stack size for gold on the real-money Auction House from 10,000,000 to 1,000,000. (At the moment, there's an active bug preventing gold stack sizes from displaying correctly in the Auction House at values higher than 1,000,000, so we've temporarily reversed this change the until we can fix the display issue.)
rehn's version of "modest" is "can solo all mp9 ubers np but have a tiny bit of trouble with the hard one on mp10," btw lol ;p
dude's a beast, my monk is no joke... until you compare it to his barb
I must say i have been enjoying D3 after this patch, just the simple fact of upping the density of mobs has made it a hell of a lot better imo, nothing quite like running into a huge as fuck pack of mobs and mowing em all down while looking for more :D
So exactly how much gold was duped in this latest bug on the AH? I heard it's so inflated now it's almost as worthless as D2 gold.
Trillions, allegedly, with 85% accounted for and further audits in progress. Economy honestly doesn't seem any different now as someone who was poor before. Bluntly wouldn't trust a word any of the doomsayers on the OF spew between talking about wanting to play PoE anyway.
