Why is that? MF still works on champ packs and regulars right? I mean if you get an item that already has good stats and it has MF on it, that is a plus. Not that his was crazy good but your comment makes it sound like MF is useless. Doesn't MF increase the amount of magic/rare/legendary items you get and the quality of the rolls on those items?
The changes to the environment have made it so that gearswapping into pure mf gear is now conclusively more effective than using well rounded gear. Before I got to call people switching manually out because swapping for every pot/chest/etc was time consuming and I got the full benefit of my mf everywhere. 'Cheaters' with auto-it scripts obviously didn't have this problem. But now it only effects white mobs, elites, and bosses. And white mobs just don't seem to drop much of anything anymore.
Also mf does not, and has never, affected the quality of the rolls on an item. It only affects the chance of an item dropping as a higher magical quality. (Legendary -> Rare -> Magic -> Superior -> White -> Crude/etc.)
So what are you doing personally, getting a pack almost dead and running off and manually changing all your gear then killing? Or do you have the script which I've seen a video of and it's pretty amazing. I just use good gear and then if I find a piece with MF on it then that's a plus.
I use smokescreen to get a quick change in on DH, seven sided + bubble on monk, etc. Or toc2 farming of course you just do it whenever lol.
I just stuck with fulltiming my well rounded gear. I hope that bliz will eventually come around and undo their retarded changes. Since my forum ban was lifted I left my two cents as well. I'll probably bump it before I go to sleep and when I wake up since the front page moves way to fast.
These are my stats with just warcry/battle rage up for reference:Spoiler: show
Any ideas what I may get for this, gold or rmah?
either of these worth anything?

I'm not gonna claim to have evidence supporting or denying this, but didn't someone test this already and at least put forward evidence that it affects ilvl and quality? (Not sure how big the sample size was, probably too small to be conclusive, but I can't find it)
In addition, since they showed the ilvl drop rates for each act in this patch, would it not stand to reason the MF would be applied to those percentages?
ilvl in D3 is basically D2's treasure class system. MF never affected that, let alone items actually dropping more in general. It just influenced the quality of something when it did.
Now, I've seen some claim that mod levels are tied to the ilvl, but in D2's case, mods were related to the monster itself independent of the TC. This is how you could see an A1 Normal item drop from something in A5 Hell with mods you could see in late Nightmare, and so on. Meanwhile, you'd never obviously see later mods if you were just killing in A1 Normal normally because they literally couldn't roll.
My main concern is that ilvl 63 items dropping in A1/2 will potentially be lesser than those from 3/4 because of this. It may not be by much, and yes, getting good rolls is a pain enough as is, let alone a specific item slot, but if that really is the case, there's no need to make actually seeing them drop stupid rare.
Mod levels are definitely tied to ilvl. It's unclear whether MF affects ilvl. It's possible. I've seen some data which indicates it might. But it's far from conclusive.
Mods are definitely tied to ilvl this time around. You won't see any Of The Bear items dropping in Inferno because the +vit suffix at 45-62 is Of Valor, at 63 it is Of Glory. So if your ilvl 63 item rolls a vit suffix, it will get 90-100 vit. Unlike D2 where you could always roll an lvl 1 mod like +15ar/5 light radius even from a hell baal ilvl 99 drop.
One thing I will say is the power curve from ilvl60 to ilvl63 weapons is retardedly too steep. Other than some niche weapons (like that VIT/Lifesteal one Kripp used), if a weapon isn't ilvl63 it's likely garbage. I actually cringe every time a weapon drops cause I know its not ilvl63 (farming Act 1 atm). The main reason is the gear progresses, but as characters we're at a constant level. Theres no reason not to buy even a shitty ilvl63 off the AH for <100k the second you ding 60 as the DPS alone will likely outweigh any ilvl61-62 item. No other class level in the game has multiple ilvls (and for whatever reason ilvl is always higher than class level from what the item DB seems to say, which makes no sense, just make them equal. Its like the "my amp goes to 11" joke).
Every level pre-60 you continually ding, then the DPS range on weapons increases. Level 1, 4DPS ... DING ... Level 2 8DPS ... DING ... Level 3 16 DPS ... or whatever, not on the game to check actual level 1-3 DPS ranges. Then you hit 60 and suddenly ilvl61-63 items become available SIMULTANEOUSLY ... putting 90% of these newly unlocked weapons in the "shit" pile right off the bat. And don't say "oh its because people jumped to act3/4 and used <insert exploit> to flood the market". Face it, even without exploits, given enough time the saturation would have happened anyway. Luckily pre-ilvl 63 items in armor slots still have plenty of utility and still has a tolerable "ladder climb" of gear progression.
Basically, level 1-59, weapon loot feels like a fair dice roll. Level 1-5 is like rolling a fair 1d4, Level 5-10 a d6 ... and so on, with the dice getting bigger and more weighted. Eventually level 60 comes around, and you feel like your rolling a 1d1,000,000, with 9 million sides having a 1, and only one side having "Jackpot".
I'm not sure I have a good alternative solution to suggest that would fall within current game mechanics, but what I know is Level 60, acknowledging the fact that there will always be randomness to win on your first drop, should be more progressive ... but as it stands right now, its just too easy to jump from 200 DPS weapons to 600+ DPS weapons for pennies, let alone higher if you have the cash.
Edit: also, appologies, this shoulda ended up in the complaint thread. but since I already ranted here, I should also add that the lowest ilvls that should be allowed to drop in Act 1/2/3/4 should be 57/58/59/60 respectively.
I've been saying that they need to fix weapon dps scaling for 3 weeks at least now iirc. It's the main reason why legendary weapons weapons are bad (most are ilvl 61/62) and my set weapons are worthless (ilvl 61 only).
I feel like my voice on the official forum goes unheard, which isn't surprising I guess. But it's annoying considering I'm telling them point blank what's wrong and I give specific reasons as to why it's wrong that are irrefutable.

Anything of Value in this batch?
spoiled-table break
Looks like the kind of crap I try to sell for 100k and fail.
The ring and shoulders are slightly better than the ones I'm using, let me know if ya wanna sell and if ya have a ballpark for price.
So I just picked up an amulet a couple hours ago with:
66 STR
107 DEX
88 INT
6% Attack Speed
47% Critical Hit Damage
for 400k. The nearest priced items to that ranging from level 50-60 is like.. 5 mil. Lol. Oops.
