And?No, but I can speak on an anecdotal level about society in general when it comes to this subject.

I already did by asking a rhetorical question.
sera I was basing that on how angry the guy in general got about it. check what I quoted. the second part was probably unneeded yeah, I admitted that then too but that was based more off of the attitude that people tend to have when they get so angry at people claiming false rape than that quote specifically.
I don't need a vagina to care about gender equality

Not saying you shouldn't care. Saying you trivialize it by getting too defensive and pissed off, when you don't even know what it is like to live as a woman in this country or this world. Don't get me wrong, i appreciate the sentiment, but it makes MY struggle look like a goddamn joke when guys are quick to slather on the defense and preferential treatment out of some sort of bastardization of what is essentially this generation's version of "white guilt." I have the same problem with itchy trigger finger feminists. Stop acting like women don't have any responsibility. Equal rights means equal. Sometimes I read shit you write about feminist issues and it smacks of a common hidden feminist desire for superiority or preferential treatment.
False rape claims ARE a big deal and things happen to sex offenders & rapists specifically in the punishment process that do not happen to other perpetrators. People get pissed off because it's a shit thing to do to someone, not because some "lying gold digging bitch" did it, though that is exactly what this piece of shit lady was.
He's thinking about it the same way enthusiastic liberal white people did in the 60s after civil rights movement. He's overdoing it out of a guilty conscience for his white male "privilege". You were born white and male dude, just like I was born Hispanic and female. You can't help how you were born, so while you're trying to make this world safer for me to be Hispanic and female in, how about you calm down and give yourself a break for being male and white, and stop overcompensating because of your guilt.
feminism is the skirkle and demos show, sera. you don't know what its like to be them and do the things they have done and see the things they have seen. i want my battle for women's rights to be fought for by those able to spontaneously grow a vagina, not those born with one.
Yeah but it's saying shit like that which will make him potentially think "well I can't win either way so why bother?". I'd rather have guys being sensitive to it than not giving a shit about it (unless it wraps around into the patronising thing, which just is bad for everyone). The hyper-sensitive women though, well, that's a different kettle of fish.
For instance this: absolute horseshit. Tell you what, go ask any other falsely convicted person and I bet they're just as pissed off.
Personally I am pissed off at this woman more than I would be for some other crimes-- know why? Because she's HURTING real victims of rape. She's using the worst moment of someone else's life as a weapon to get money or hurt a man by getting him convicted of a crime he didn't commit. She is why rape victims have to go get swabbed after it happens. She is part of the problem. IMO the biggest offender of women's rights in this situation was HER.
I do sympathize with them as well, but here's the difference from my perspective:
While the a murder conviction (let's just narrow this down to death row/life imprisonment) carries a much harsher penalty (Loss of own life) than a rape conviction, the penalties from society are much much harsher, I think. You're life is ruined, and people look down on you for the rest of your life. Now I'm not saying that being a murder convict is easier than a rape convict, but that's the stigma that comes with it. In my view, even after being exonerated from rape, the conviction will still carry with you for the rest of your life, and like I said earlier, in the case of a murder exoneration, the social penalties are less, in my eyes. And while this may not be entirely true (I'm not sure, I have no idea), let's pretend for a second that you are more likely to be falsely convicted of murder, than you are of rape. In this situation, I think males in general will "relate" more with false accusations of rape because of the circumstances of the trial. In a false accusation of rape case it generally goes (correct me if I'm wrong): You had sex with her, she claims rape, your word vs her word (almost always in her favor), not to mention the crime never even happened. In the case of being falsely accused of murder, you have witnesses, you have DNA evidence (sometimes), you have an alibi, and above all else: the crime was committed, and there IS a person that is responsible. Most importantly, the number of females that get convicted of rape (Not to mention almost no social stigma, again it's all aimed at the man ie stop being a pussy etc.) is far lower than females that get convicted of murder to the point where the VAST majority of rape cases, the male is the defendant.
yeah, totally agree: she *is* hurting other victims who might not be taken seriously due to what she did. It's proportionally more impacting than falsely accused murderers or anything else (except maybe falsely accused child abusers, but then that's not usually seen as a reason to disbelieve children, even though it has a major impact on the falsely accused's life).
Like Chari said I can get mad about two things, but when it comes to the death penalty, there's no coming back from it.
I just think whoever is teaching him about feminism is doing it in a really fucking idiotic way. We don't need more goddamn femizealots who spend their time talking about stupid shit like "WHY DOES THE WORD SLUT HAVE TO HAVE A NEGATIVE CONNOTATION!?!?!? ZOMG", hang on the word privilege as a crutch to compensate for their lack of ability to participate in intelligent idea exchange, and make huge deals over stuff that is small and meaningless while completely glossing over & being afraid to say that in this particular situation, for example, the WOMAN who did the false accusing was the one setting women back in the fight for equality. Not every woman is right. We need people who are fair and THINK.
if you're going to join the fight, cool, but if you're going to be a mindless fembot I would rather you just didn't fucking bother because you make us look like a joke. That's my point.
