GPU Issue

Tonight I was enjoying an evening of D3 when my FPS just dumped down to within inability to play, closed the game, reloaded it, same issue straight away, restarted my PC and everything was fine. Up until about 2hrs after the restart it happened again, I had GPU and CPU programs up on my second monitor the entire time waiting to see what would cause it, and it doesn't seem to be temp related (GPU wont go above 59C and CPU is at a constant 40C w/ D3 running) fans are running fine but the GPU is forcing itself to a 95 - 99% load when anything is open.

Wondering if anyone who recently installed Nvidias latest drivers had experienced the same problems or would know the cause of this, I didn't have the option when I went to roll back the drivers on the card itself, so I ended up having to windows restore.

Only other thing that had recently changed is went from single monitor to dual monitors but don't see how that could cause an issue and if it did that it would end up being an issue a lot sooner than a week of solid use and abuse.

the card only has 1gb of memory, spanning a large desktop and playing games across both those screens will certainly lead to memory being used up and not being used efficiently (d3 is pretty new, so driver updates in the near future may fix these issues)

does it happen with other games? does it happen with single monitor? are you using the mini hdmi or both dvi?

yeah it happens on single monitor, and I'm using both DVI, uh.. I'd have to try other programs and stuff but almost positive it'd continue to happen, just seems like rather running at its peak performance during game play, it likes to drop to half performance for a couple seconds and then go back up to peak, when at peak it only use about 15-20% of the GPU but when it drops it floors itself to 99 and causes the god awful lag syndrome, which was also experienced on single monitor.

I think I pin pointed the problem to being my PSU not able to handle the loads of the card, going to give that an upgrade from 750watt to 1k and see how it goes after that.

750W is enough for SLI 680 GTX, unless it's just that your current PSU is a shit quality unit then 750W will be fine for whatever you have. 1000W is for 3 way SLI 680/7970 level, not a 560 >.>

current PSU that I have in my box advertises 600w but is only putting out 470 >_>; which isn't enough to run my entire system and keep the card at peak performance.



P0 state is my cards highest performance state and this is what it was running when I was grinding it up in XIV a few hours ago, screenshot of the inspector is actually when I had everything but that program running before restart.
