Was also of the mind the CV franchise is Konami's, with recent titles ferried off to MS. As is, the series has basically been all of the place among consoles and handhelds, so a temporary exclusive clause doesn't surprise me much. We probably don't see this in action often due to cross-platform releases being 3+ months apart basically being a hype killer unless later versions come with more content/fixes.
Kind of wish they didn't reveal the possibility of an HD version of this later. Kinda kills the mood for people that would rather wait for that instead. Except this has to sell well first for the HD to happen.
Publishing the game doesn't mean Nintendo owns the IP, or the game, lol. I had a much longer post typed up originally, but then I realized it was just an inflated version of that single sentence and said fuck it.
Well, I know they don't own the IP. I was just wondering if its similar to Bayonetta 2.
Nah, the way they've worded it, Nintendo's involvement in Bayonetta 2 is being referred to as a partnership on the developmental level. Obviously it's impossible to say without seeing what kind of contract they have, but it's a different situation compared to this.
Demo is out today..
Seems to have framrate problems
I honestly think its terrible =/
Dear god reviews are tearing it apart, when comparing it to older castlevania titles... what have they done ._. I really want a classic castlevania title again
Just make a true sequel to SoTK and call it a day.
So easy to make this shit work, but everyone wants to put their own little spin on an IP and winds up shitting all over it, just like that idiot with DMC.
Tried the demo, and did not like it.
I just want another Metroidvania damnit. Why fix it if it ain't broken? The three DS games we're all fun.
I never did play Lords of Shadow. Maybe if I did I would appreciate this a little more? lol
I didn't DISLIKE lords of shadow, but never got around to finishing it. I'm dying for another metroidvania too, but god knows how long it'll be till we get one.
Regarding the demo, did anyone notice anything with the sound? It seemed odd to me. As if the sound were almost too loud for the system to handle, no matter how low I turn the volume, I still hear crackling or static or... Fucking something, I don't know. I'm no audiophile by any stretch (I enjoy the speakers built into my TV just fine), but has anyone noticed similar?
If you look at Meta-critic, its gotten some good reviews. Hell the only 3 user reviews have given it bad reviews and they all admit they only gave it 0, 1, 3 because they didnt like that the game was getting good user feedback, lol.
Fall damage in a 2D Castlevania. I was done with this game 20 minutes into the demo.
REALISM! IMMERSION! LERN2PLAY!
Spoiler: show
