TB is a blowhard. Of course the PC version was hobbled on purpose, it wasn't an accident. And of course it was done for business reasons, except the options he lists as those reasons are far from exhaustive. They could have been trying to protect the metacritic average, for example. Glitchy effects have a way of bringing that down. It bugs me that he wastes oxygen on the conspiracy theories like Sony payola.
ya there is but it's far in between.

lolWatch Dogs PC Update
The dev team is completely dedicated to getting the most out of each platform, so the notion that we would actively downgrade quality is contrary to everything we’ve set out to achieve. We test and optimize our games for each platform on which they’re released, striving for the best possible quality. The PC version does indeed contain some old, unused render settings that were deactivated for a variety of reasons, including possible impacts on visual fidelity, stability, performance and overall gameplay quality. Modders are usually creative and passionate players, and while we appreciate their enthusiasm, the mod in question (which uses those old settings) subjectively enhances the game’s visual fidelity in certain situations but also can have various negative impacts. Those could range from performance issues, to difficulty in reading the environment in order to appreciate the gameplay, to potentially making the game less enjoyable or even unstable.
Thanks for playing Watch Dogs and stay safe on the mean streets of Chicago.

Seems pretty stable to me, interesting how a random person did what they couldn't do. Then again not super surprised because of how shit Black Flag and other AC PC ports were.deactivated for a variety of reasons, including possible impacts on visual fidelity, stability, performance and overall gameplay quality.
just finished the game, was good
time for the gathering all the shit for lolplatinum
I just finished my Platinum last night, the first game I've ever done that for (Telltale Walking Dead Season 1 does not count). I liked the fact that most of the trophies were for actually doing side quests rather than "Kill 100 enemies with this gun" for six different games. All but 4 of the trophies I got before I finished the campaign, and the other four didn't take too long afterwards.
The Level 5 CTOS scan took the longest just because it was hard to kill enough people before someone called 911 to trigger the cops, or you run out of people to kill, find a few more to kill, but you've dropped below a level 5 scan again. Or you hit level 5 while having killed everyone, and it drops below level 5 again once you have found people to get them to call the cops. And once you do, there's a lot of things that can go wrong between you triggering the scan and escaping. I finally ended up achieving it by using the marina on the east side of the map, using the grenade launcher to take out anyone who was trying to call the docks, then hopping on a speed boat the second I hit level 5 and I saw a call go in. I managed to only use 3 Com Jams the time I finally got it. It took a lot of trial and error, and was very frustrating at times.
I posted this on evga forums, thought id also post it here... fixed my stuttering issues..

Anyone else still playing the Bad Blood DLC on this? I'm on PS4, and having problems finding literally anyone (not just on friends list, anyone) to do the 2-person online street sweep with. Last night, my searches just come up dry and auto-decline after a couple of minutes. I only have one done, maybe I should have started that earlier.
Since we're past the graphics issue and what not, is this game actually worth getting for say $12 for pc? From what I've read the main character has the personality of a stale potato chip and the gameplay isn't all that. On the other hand, many seem to really like it. I'm in no rush so I'm wondering if I'd be better off waiting for black friday.
Personally, I would say no. The cute features related to hacking get old after a few hours, and once those wear thin the game isn't very interesting.
I'd honestly wait until a sequel is announced/demoed. There is no revolutionary gameplay or plot to speak of, so you can wait till it's even cheaper.
It is a bad game, but I enjoy the Gang Hideouts and the Madness mini game.
If you like a game about story and characters, this game isn't for you.
If you enjoy a fun game to play, this game isn't for you either.
Good news everybody!
This game will launch on wii u this week, with 2 paid DLC!
This game would transition so well on the WiiU, it's just terrible how little too late it is.
