European customers with the Wii U version on preorder are reporting those retailers have canceled their preorders. Not delayed, canceled.
This has fueled some grim rumors about the state of the game on that particular platform.
Perhaps time to update the thread title :D

If there was actual issues with it on the Wii U they wouldnt have delayed it on other systems, they would have went ahead and and delayed just the Wii U version.

If the game can be played on PS3/360, no reason it cant work on Wii U. lol.

Why? I think the Wii U version is going to be the best gameplay experience, assuming they don't throw away the opportunity of the controller. Sure it's not gonna be the best graphically, but the controller seems perfect for what they've shown.

Gamestop Italy is the one canceling. No other retailers are.

The rumor gets its credibility not from some understanding of the technical barriers facing the port, but the opportunity investment of Ubisoft continuing work considering the performance of their past titles on the platform.

At this point the game is very close to done. It would be foolish to already put this much time and money into it then cancel it for one platform.

Games have come farther along in completion and still gotten canceled. See: Starfox 2, Half Life 1 Dreamcast.

I'd be more worried about the cpu not being able to handle everything that is going on.

I've really been looking forward to it on the Wii U as well, I really hope this is just a fluke or something, I don't wanna wait until I end up getting a PS4 to play it.

Well, apparently the game was relisted on the Italian Site.

Update: By means of an email from GameStop Italy's customer service, we're told that in regards to Wiitalia's report, "This information is wrong, tomorrow the reservation[s] of Watch Dogs will restart." We're reaching out to GameStop Italy for clarification, and will continue to update the story as we learn more
