I never played a game for their series, but i'm looking for a good game with a strong story, that will make me feel like i'm watching a long movie

Heavy Rain is going to look hella aged on PS4. Facial mo-cap has had large leaps since its release, including Beyond Two Souls itself.

Chronological order sounds nice on paper for Beyond, but it'll just mean all the (bad) action content will be funneled into the later half of the game, which may disrupt the pacing even further.

I'm curious how "combat will be harder" lol. There is no real combat per say just some button prompts

For a first time player would playing the game chronological or default be better?

I'd much rather view events when they happen but i'm curious if doing that would take away from the experience.

I haven't played it myself but if I do end up picking it up next week (so much shit that just came out or that I'm picking up Black Friday, I might let this one sit a few months), I'm definitely planning on doing original/default/whatever mode first. For most anything achronological I'll always watch it first in the director's intended sequence, but an opportunity to watch/play it chronologically does help for going back and answering questions on a second run-through. For example, Memento would lose all of its purpose, pacing, and tension watching it chronologically the first time through, but doing that the second time it could be just as enjoyable as the first. Just my two cents.

    Nope. From the blog post

Update: An earlier version of this post stated that players would have to complete the game before being able to play it in chronological order. This feature is unlocked from the start of the game.

I'd just wait on Black Friday. PSN also has a 10% coupon thing going on until December 1st which you can see from their webstore.

Started playing it yesterday and finished it today on the Remix (chronological) story mode. It was a AMAZING experience and if anyone is still on the fence just go ahead and get it ASAP.

I strongly feel like the game should have been done chronologically in the first place since the story and gameplay is very consistent, I never felt like the pacing was bad as suggested by another poster. The PS4 tech and remastering did soooooo much for the game, I really did feel like I was watching a live action movie during certain scene and even during gameplay. My only quirk is some of the QTE are awful specifically the slow motion ones that need a direction. Looking forward to Detroit/KARA so much more now and hoping they manage to make Heavy Rain nearly as cinematic and lifelike as Beyond is.
