Watthe FFXIII world in FFXIV form.
Watthe FFXIII world in FFXIV form.
I saw that too, but I'm waiting for the manner in which we raise them to be revealed before I get hyped on results. Maybe well have more nobs to turn this time, but it'll be worthless if they don't go up to 11. To be fair to SE, the Grand Company Chocobos have proven to be noticeably faster than rentals in FFXIV, so they've set a better standard than they did in FFXI (where they were barely better, if at all, for an ungodly amount of invested time). More importantly, unlike FFXI, FFXIV has a transportation system where chocobos are a solid form of travel on their own, rather than just being a supplement to regional teleportation.
I don't think they meant that it'll literally have zoned based on ff12 and 13 but anything of that sort would be alluded to or inspired.
It's not exactly a new concept, FFs have always done this kind of homage in the past with borrowed names and concepts. XIV will just make it a bigger focus I guess.
I'm thinking garlemard will be like archades in feel and some high tech dungeon is gonna resemble the hanged edge lol
Gimme Mount Gulug with the nostalgic theme D:
Or I wouldn't mind a tunnel-based dungeon with Gargant Rides.
Um I meant to say it isn't gonna be a slap in the face of lore and story canon. It's all gonna fit right into XIV as if it were original ideas not seen in previous FFs
Why not just put space travel in the game and have different planets for different FF games? Probably too ambitious however.

Some pretty interesting stuff:
- CP is crafting points which will be used for abilities during crafting
- further explanation of summon system
- 24 people raid in 2.0
- raising chocobos to be tank, caster, healer attacker (also while a lot of stuff is planned down the road, chocobo raising will be there at 2.0 launch)
- they will need some time to transfer data from 1.xx to 2.0 (might take up to a month) and that will probably happen during beta (so the main game will be down for some time)
I don't think any of the reports we had up until now mention anything about battle system so I guess they did not show any fighting.
I wonder since summons are going to be "difficult" and exclusive to one free company for at least 2 weeks if they're just going to add a shitload of primals? If there's only going to be 12 summons in the world I think it would be a waste of a system to include.
If they're making the change to crafting that I think they're making, i'm pretty excited. Everything about the crafting system in 1.XX seems so stiff.
He mentioned the chocobo raising stuff but he didn't get into the Gambit system he was talking about during the Live letter lol. I wonder if they scrapped it.
I think that's the first time he mentioned the primals will roam freely. I hope the weapon battles will remain as they are in a fixed location otherwise you'll be fighting Ifrit maybe once every 2 weeks lol.
Purely aesthetic jump? I can't even use this to jump up a small ledge or something? There are no plans for using the jump for any elements of gameplay it’s just there for those that want to jump. You won’t be able to jump to avoid Ifrit’s attacks or anything.

Ehh, I think they will make you can at least do that.
I figured it would be like jumping in FFXIII. Only can jump when there is a need to jump. Besides, I always thought it was stupid how people in WoW would just stand around jumping like idiots.
Not sure if you're musing on how you think it should have been or how it will be, but...
...it's definitely user-triggered anywhere.Yoshida tapped on the space bar and his male miqo’te jumped up (though due to the nature of the current version there wasn’t any animation for it.
I am really glad to read that they have big plans for battle regimens. >.<!! Here's to hoping for Fire Arrow and such!!
Need to get rid of stupid invisible walls between mid-high cliffs and lower grounds (obviously there should be fall damage). I don't care how fake it looks, don't make me go the long way for no apparent reason. Running around Mor Dhona is so incredibly irritating cause of this.
those god damn branches . . . if only my choco knew how to step over them . . .
"We realized those little fences all over La Noscea were really annoying people so we removed collision detection for them."
"The same fences are in Coerthas and they're just as annoying, why didn't you do it for those too?"
"The fuck you think we are, wizards?"
