Hopefully they do branch classes away somehow (also note that all of those screenshots are of jobs, excluding crafting/gathering thank the lord) so if we're keeping Gladiator it branches out to Paladin & Dark Knight like he spit-balled earlier (minus the whole lock out thing) and Thaumaturge (fuck the spelling i'm not looking it up) will branch to like Black Mage & idfk Red Mage with Conjurer doing White Mage & Summoner (because honestly) and Archer can go Bard or Ranger (listen, i want to dream, i know i'm sounding dangerously OF)

I don't think you'd build a spiky warmachine in space just for the purpose of a crude bludgeon. I suspect it'll be a floating fortress of sorts that we'll get to visit. I imagine the transformed environment is merely due to the gravity (and god knows what else) of the thing.

I hope it's not just a simple bludgeon, that's so boring I want to visit an ancient space fortress.

I really hope they don't fuck up the nostalgia factor they're banking on b/c my god that'll be the saving grace (you have no idea how pumped I am for Typhon, NO. IDEA.)

flashy graphics aside, I really like the look of the UI. Firstly, the fonts finally look somewhat unified (this is a huge peeve of mine in the current release). There are multiple actions bars viewable, and apparently you can set up ones on the side like most other mmos. Furthermore, you can assign items and shit in them as they said so that's a huge things. Can we put our mount whistle in them as well though?? Still a few questions like that to be answered but for me, this is on the right track. I love customizable UIs as much as the next mmo enthusiast and so this for me was the most important part of the screenshots.

I imagine the mount whistle is going to change dramatically since in 2.0 (either at launch or after) we are going to use Chocobo's as fighting companions so they will likely have a button that specifically deals with Chocobo Attributes and calling commands. Another nice thing I like about the UI isn't just that its unified but that it is clean looking. The buttons don't clutter up the screen like the originally 2.0 concept image, and I really like how the health bar color is different depending on who it is. Blue for party members, Yellow/Red for monsters etc. Also on the top of the screen you can see a little arrow pointing to the member who has the most hate and how you can see both what someone is casting but how long its going to take them to cast it. Setting up stuff like Collusion and trying to dodge enemy attacks got a lot easier, especially if the games input latency issues get solved with the new server architecture.

Wow that's amazing! Fenrir, Cait Sith, Hydra, Typhon. Omg!
Typhon looks kinda small though, maybe he's one of the summons alongside Cait Sith?
Also the areas look incredible unlike the crap we have now... Gridania's woods look like actual woods now instead of tunnels.

They did say the new engine would scale more easily...

...but I want to play it at max settings. ;_; I had a new PC built a couple years ago for XIV launch, I hope it'll do max settings on 2.0. I'm not terribly tech-savvy, all I know is that current XIV won't support crossfire/SLI cards, and that's what I selected.
