i am assuming 2.0 will drastically improve graphics. meanwhile its also past tense since i decided to stop playing and to come back with a fresh start in 2.0..

i'm really looking forward to it based on what i've seen so far.

might actually play Gridania now that Black Shroud looks this pretty.. but will probably start in Uldah because the town is more centrally planned, as usual.

And another one for LL lol D; But just if the new story for the cities will have more differences instead of just joining together after a couple of missions. Did they state somewhere that standard account includes more than one character? If so, how many do you get, and is that already implemented or coming with 2.0?

I haven't followed it since the split fee was abolished.

While you wouldn't get it right away, the aetherpass makes getting around towns trivial.

gee thats pretty good. i dont ever intend to play more than 1 character but at $3 cheaper a month that really adds up.

My understanding is that if you are a brand new player, having to wait for your 30-days free to run out will mean you are too late. However if you already have an account and are past the free trial, you can start paying now and just make it.

I see no real benefits which justify a re-sub. Just going to wait on this one :/

hmm ok.

i started at launch, so i have an account. i'm quite certain i'd still be playing the game 1 year down the road (or be ok paying for it) so i'd definitely make use of the savings i'd be getting per month. that said, i'm still paying for FFXI even tho i haven't been playing lol.

definitely gonna be in on 2.0 tho. i'd want to play for the story.

also, i'm the kind of person who would want to see his name in the credits lol.

That's the thing. I don't "expect" XIV to be worthwhile for 10 months of content.

Can you buy a subscription for 90 days at a time instead of just 3x30 day subscriptions for "uninterrupted service"?

Then even if the trial period counts, you might be able to get away with it.

And in looking at the roadmap, even with the 30 days "free trial" you might just squeak in before that "up to a month" period when they close everything to prep for 2.0.

Correct.

In order to fulfill the requirements for the Legacy Campaign, a player must register his/her copy of the game no later than Thursday, May 31, 2012, and have subscribed for a minimum of 90 days beyond the conclusion of your free trial period.

Bolded text leads me to believe that if you have an account already, you have until late June.
