Was skeptical at first when I saw the preview, but the more I think about it, I'm pretty sure it will be awesome. Probably not a day one for me, but I'll definitely see it in the theater. Also the sequel potential, moving through generations of console games, is pretty awesome.

Well I thought about the just wanting to make it classic arcade stuff as well, but Sonic never got an arcade release. Though I think that this could be an oversight.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

My thirst for computer animated films is neverending, even if they turn up only just better than okay. I saw MegaMind in theaters, so I'm willing to do the same here.

I saw a preview a while back and decided I'm probably going to love this movie. I'm trying to hype up my friends so I have some people to go with but they're weird about animated stuff. They go see Tangled KNP, but put up a fight over Megamind, this, and similar things. just... wat.

Some new footage in this trailer. Shitty music selection though.

Dear lord that looks like it was written for a 30 year old child.

Well, I thought it before, and I still think it now. There is finally a role that I can tolerate Sarah Silverman in.

They where playing the hell out of the preview during the Dallas game Sunday, which made me wonder if maybe they're targeting the wrong audience. Then I realized anyone who wants to see it for the reasons I want to see is already long aware of it's existence.

Just came back from seeing this.

It was AMAZINGLY good. I did not expect the story to be so tight and the characters to be so good (I expected a lot more annoying than was actually present). The writing was perhaps the best part. It was very sharp and I can't think of one joke that really fell flat for me or made me cringe in that way that makes me realize it was directed solely at kids. The characters were written very true to the games they come from, so much so that it was at once very immersive yet noticeable (in a good way) to a video game fan.

I highly reccommend seeing this movie if you like video games at all. Hell, even if you don't you'll probably enjoy it. It presents a really moving dilemma to the hero halfway through and I was very satisfied with the ending and all the plot points. My favorite character was definitely the hardcore FPS military chick.

A fun bonus for me was the theme song to the game Sugar Rush being done by my current favorite Jpop group, AKB48, which is also played in full during the end credits (my sigtar are related to the group).

There is a little bit of something cute past the credits.

A couple easter eggs to watch for that I noticed:
    Spoiler: show

-On the way into the train station near the beginning of the movie, AERITH DIES is scrawled in blood on the wall like graffitti.
-Around the middle of the movie, in a bathroom (?) full of graffitti LEROY is scrawled, among other videogame lingo like PWNED.

    Wreck-It Ralph (November 2, 2012)

I'm disappointed that this thread isn't bumping with people talking about the film. If you haven't seen it yet, go see it. It's perhaps one of the best movies to come out this year. If you're a gamer it will strike much more of an emotional chord with you than anyone else. I'd rather not say anything else to prevent spoiling anything. Go see it.

I just saw Argo last night, I'm always like three weeks behind. Planning on seeing this very soon.

Going to see it next week after my workload is a bit lighter. Friend told me the movie is amazing and was worth the ticket price.

I was genuinely disappointed in it.

I feel that all the video game licenses that Disney got were incredibly minimized. There is an epidemic of thirty-something males with father-daughter wish fulfillment fantasies that I honestly could not care less about. To that end, I feel that the movie was falsely marketed, since I thought it was going to be more about "bad guy" redemption. There was just way too much time spent in the latter half of the movie that could have just been hacked off into a Disney movie of it's own; the video game aspect of it is nothing more than a cute wrapper for it all.

This is not to say it's a bad movie. The video game aspect of it is never cheaply thrown about or disrespected, and if you enjoy Disney movies, then is one of Disney's best in an extremely long time. But considering this is the company that was able to put together "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?", I am going to be pretty unforgiving with how lopsided the movie is.
