Oh okay I read they wanted the class/job ready for ARR launch but any idea if it would be like FFXI where you need a max level char to get the summons. I was planing to reroll Arc / Smn

The skill list was datamined already but it's pretty damning as an NDA. You can do a search for it pretty easily though. Of course, things can and will change, but it gives you an idea oh how they want the class to work.
I believe Yoshi P has mentioned at some point that the datamined info is meaningless since the skills are going to change. So you never know what'll happen.
Is there a way to do dungeons with less than 4 players? A friend and I would like to check out Tam Tara (and finish our hunting logs) with our higher level classes since we're having trouble finding people during the off hours.
So been playing the beta... Are they shooting for a June/July release? I've been thoroughly impressed and it seems like just minor stuff now
How large is the total client download for arr. Seems like I've already downloaded a full 9gb file and now I'm downloading another 6gb file. Is there more after this?
friend and I are gonna try to put together a party later for the first dungeon (level 15+), send me a PM if interested and would like to join us and are on Bahamut.
And is there really no way to reset attribute points? Won't that kinda suck for leveling different classes?
Yeah, each class gets their own allotment. But does that mean when you switch to a new class they keep the allotments of the other bonus attributes from other classes you leveled.. or is each class basically a clean slate? If each class is a clean slate I only hope they give you a way to reset them, since otherwise it makes me scared to use them at all lol
I'm not sure if it's the same in 2.0, as I haven't fucked around with it. Basically though in 1.0 each class got their own points, your allotment from other classes didn't carry over to others at all. They also had a way to reset allotments in 1.0 and they've mentioned it'll be in 2.0 as well. Just not in beta is all.
Finally got my hands on the beta, question however, mostly battle system related.
1) Are they actually going to keep this (i hope not) "easy-single-player mode" style of gameplay? It feels like it's like every MMO standard now in a way, and this fell into it (heavy solo play, instances, quests for xp only kind of thing). I was hoping for heavy party play and not just in instances, and skillchains + magic burst kind of things. Sorta like ffxi i guess, i know this isn't ffxi, but those are the things that made the game for me. Don't get me wrong, I love this game so far, it still feels FF-ish, the music, the graphics, the environment, it all feels like it belongs to FF.
Group battle stuff is coming in Phase 3 -- Limit Breaks. We don't know much about them. I won't get my hopes up until I see it in action; I was never able to grasp how to properly use 1.0's battle regimens.
It only feels that way due to the nature of early beta. People cant test higher lv content if they spend hours LFG. Its best people can solo their way thru most of the Beta content and to easily do it again on new characters.
And yea Party play will come in Phase 3 with Limit Breaks.
They are probably trying to move away from party play, but not completely, and giving players the option by allowing them to do more with a group, but still able to progress solo also.
Party play requirement, has way too many disadvantages and making it a requirement to "advance" in a game outside of doing instances/raids would make the game not as fun as it could be. Thats how I feel anyway, after over a decade and a half of MMO gaming >.>
Yet still the most annoying thing is having to drop party to do a story/class quest. Making the game push towards more and more solo play.
I am not a huge fan of the Party/Full Party size. I would have liked to have seen it be at least 5. One of the things that made XI so wonderful (preTAU) was that there was a place for a buffer or a debuffer in a party. With 4, its Tank+Healer+DD+DD. Not that there is a large place for a debuffer/buffer in the combat system (new or old). But it was nice to have back then.
My biggest question at the moment is that if at higher levels we will see a class/job besides GLA/PLD be able to tank? Going live with a game with a traditional trinity and only having in essence 1 healer and 1 tank seems a bit short sighted at best. It can work for the short term, but even Tera tried to have 2 of each at launch.
