Damn. Well is there any way to cycle through leves? I keep getting fucking level 1 ones while trying to skill up level 12 armorer.
I think you can pick them up and abandon them after you get it? I'm not sure if that actually works though.
Yeah what Elcura said. But it seems to me you may want to try another city if you're just getting lvl 1s. Some cities have better leves for certain levels.
Do you need a special rank to start the last GC mission^
I just did don<t hate on the messenger and don't see any new mission to do
You need to go to Mor Dhona cave to start the next mission (look it up online).
scratch that just read the relic thread :D
So I've gotten Marauder, Pugilist, and Lancer up to 15. Is it more beneficial to me to keep these 3 leveled equally or push one to 30?
In that same vein, is it more beneficial to me in the long to push for a 50 class/job ASAP (likely to be warrior, but I am enjoying Pugilist/Monk a lot) or to spend time on pushing all of my War/Magic classes to 10-15 for extra abilities?
Can the spells like protect and cure be added to your abilities even if you are a disciple of war?
I know a lot of my questions are noobish. Still trying to figure out the finer points of the battle system. But I am glad I read up on getting second wind ASAP...has made leveling a LOT easier.
I don't see any real reason to keep them equally leveled. I mean, it's good to have the requisite cross-class skills for their respective jobs (tbh I have no idea what WAR/MNK pull from; each other and GLA/LNC? i donno play melee jabs)
I would say it's more beneficial to get a job to 50 and then go back, but that could be just because it's how I did it, and how I imagine most people doing it. Don't forget that Jobs only get 2 classes to bring cross-class skills from, and cross-class skills post 30, are afaik, pretty rare (I think Chameleon is the highest? at 42ARC)In that same vein, is it more beneficial to me in the long to push for a 50 class/job ASAP (likely to be warrior, but I am enjoying Pugilist/Monk a lot) or to spend time on pushing all of my War/Magic classes to 10-15 for extra abilities?
Yes, as long as you're a 'class' and not a 'job' etc. etc.Can the spells like protect and cure be added to your abilities even if you are a disciple of war?
With that in mind, Id imagine the chance for partying up in the current game climate might be slim for newer players. Is it possible (albeit slow) to solo at least until 30, if not 50?
And are a lot of the databases just really out of date or neglected entirely? Half the quests I've done between 5 and 15 aren't even listed anywhere. It's difficult to search for gear upgrades or points of focus for character progression (like getting a choco or subjob in FFXI was at a specific point) with databases the way they are.
Yes, you can solo to cap (guildleves are faster than just grinding).
I haven't looked around much, but I've never seen a good quest database for FFXIV. That said, I wouldn't suggest anyone invest too much time into it before 2.0.
Ok, cool.
Is there a way to utilize guildleves more efficiently than 4 at a time without burning up your anima teleporting between city and camp?
Carry a weathered weapon for a class you t haven't leveled yet. When you're finished with leves, swap to the level 1 class and fight something. When you die return to your inn, walk out grab leves, return to camp. Rinse and repeat.
That's where that weathered weapon comes in handy!
Well a rank 1 class more like it.
Doesn't really matter what class you do it on, so long as you're not damaging a weapon you care about.
I just think the return timer is unnecessarily inconvenient if you can just get around it by committing suicide.
Oh I don't disagree with you, I just like to shamefully exploit it.
I saw a wild Rocl earlier but disappeared from my screen before I could poke.
A question for planning ahead, is there anything special I should have from other classes for BLM besides Chameleon?
Featherfoot, Second Wind, Decoy, Quelling Strike, and Chameleon are the 5 abilities you'll be using cross-class on BLM.
