Attribute points for all 1.0 characters will be reset. There is no "reset at your leisure" option at this point, and I don't think it's planned.

hmm but what is if new players who dont know the best attributes for the class/jobs and use the wrong attributes upgrades all the time? will they have to delete the char and make a new? maybe they should add a option to reset the attributes every while, once a month or something like that

The points don't even matter that much. In 1.0 every time we unlocked a Job we received an items to reset stats. It might work in a similar way in ARR.

and this is why being able to allot points at all is stupid and should be done away with.

Hey, if I want to put all my points in MND on my Dragoon so I can maximize my support abilities from Conjurer, that's my right!

So are Warriors/Marauders able to dps effectively or are they in a boat where they are 1/2 tank and 1/2 dps and not that great at either? I read a bit that they excelled as tanks in AoE fights, but that they also pulled a lot of threat if they went dps.

In 1.0 there could handle everything but very difficult battles with relative ease. Their enmity generation was limited by their ability to dps basically. If everyone else's was as well though then it worked out for them with the right setup (like Ifrit extreme). Based on their current array of [datamined] abilities one could presume the same, but that will rely heavily on how much enmity boost they're really getting from a few of those abilities.

Increases the potency of anything that does damage or heals.

Hmm, I love the way they look but i've always just been pure dps in every game I played. Going to test out PUG this beta phase and I played LNC in 1.0 and enjoyed it, I'll have to see how PUG and LNC play and figure out if I want to do WAR and be a tank for my group of friends as well.

I submitted a ticket Friday evening (June 14 @ about 8pm) and the only thing I've received is a confirmation of the ticket submission. Have been checking email consistently for a reply. I am a non-legacy 1.0 purchaser.
One idea floating on the official forums is that it was a problem with hotmail. I personally am using that service to receive my SE emails, how about yourself?

I want to buy a gamepad for FFXIV. Anyone got any ideas of a good priced / works from the box / CD. I remember trying to get my ps3 controller to work on PC for FFXI and it was a ton of mumbo jumbo and really difficult but I got it to work. Now it doesnt work properly for XIV and I figure I should have a gamepad anyway for my PC cause my bro will be on the ps3
