After you defeat the mage and his gargoyle you go back to the guard house near the Alchemists' guild if I remember correctly.
I'm not entirely sure what the order is or where you are in the story but I'll give it a shot.
After you speak to them you are told you have to go to the adventurer's guild. After you speak to the Lala there (the guildmaster, I forget her name), you go to the goldsmith guild, from there back to the adventurer's guild, and then to the top floor of the "palace" area for a cutscene.
If you've done all that I believe you have to go to Raubahn(sp? the big black guy) across from the PUG guild and then up to the airship docks. The airship docks are accessed through a lift in the market area as well as... somewhere else I can't remember. After you arrive in the next city the NPC to continue is directly in front of you after leaving the "waiting area" for lack of a better term.
Ok this combat is fantastic, especially with a gamepad
Ah, thanks! I had to trigger something with the NPC in the palace area. Since you can't click through the maps to see in there, I couldn't see the ! icon. D: Much obliged.
We had a thread a while back (1.0) documenting the various class and main quests and what got unlocked. I have notes from beta so far, but wasn't sure where to dump them to share with others.
Is there a weapon merchant in each city that sells every class weapon?
I want to lean towards no; that the starter weapons need to come from the appropriate region. I'm not positive though and xivdb.com only lists one vendor for Weathered Gladius (as an example), but may not be completely accurate. The later areas may start to sell class weapons of all types.
EDIT: Later areas being camps that are for levels 20+ or maybe even 30+
Every city merchant I've run across seems limited to selling weapons strictly for the classes that are obtained in that specific city. It's... very annoying.
What level are the dungeons? I know the 3 level 15 ones, ifrit, 2 level 20ish ones, but missing the 3rd 20 and the other 3 30.
In this beta, I believe there are only 7 dungeons. In order of lowest level to highest, they are...
Sastasha (minimum level, 15; maximum level, 17)
Tam-Tara Deepcroft
Copperbell Mines
Halatali
Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak (minimum level, 23)
BukkakeHaukke Manor (minimum level, 29 -- the gap between Toto-Rak and this dungeon is why the Yoshi-P NPC will auto-level you from 26 to 29)
Brayflox's Longflop
You can find this information located in the "Scope of the current beta test" or whatever thread on the beta forums along with the min/max levels required for entry. I've listed what little I can remember about required min/max levels in parenthesis.
From Beta Forums:
Sastasha Seagrot (Level 15 to 17)
Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Level 16 to 18)
Copperbell Mines (Level 17 to 19)
Halatali (Level 20 to 22)
Thousand Maws of Toto-rak (Level 23 to 25)
Haukke Manor (Level 29 to 31)
Brayflox's Longstop (Level 32 to 34)
Copperbell Mines (Lv.15)
Sastasha (Lv.15)
Tamtara Deepcroft (Lv.15)
Halatali (Lv.20)
Thousand Maws of Toto-rak (Lv.25)
Haukke Manor (Lv.30)
Brayflox's Longstop (Lv.32)
This is the list I have.
Is the only way to get seals for your chocobo license is to grind leves in drybone? Looks like you need 1000 but these leves only give 100ish.
So what does Dragoon/LNC wear end gamewise in looks vs a Warrior/MRD? Always been a fan of plate looking armor and still trying to decide on what class I want to lvl up 1st.
I seem to have hit a dead end? I guess I need to dungeon. I'm level 15 and the only quest I have is To Guard a Guardian. Tried it twice now and it's the only thing that's given me some trouble to do. Can't find any other quests and I'm out of leves for the day. Mindless grind?
