Static, you can see the bonus on the duty finder window if you haven't already done them all. The level 30 ones give 16720 EXP and 17410 EXP bonus for the first completion. They give a hefty gil bonus too (over 4k each) so that'll be nice if rolling on a non-legacy.

I decided to remove SweetFX yesterday, but since then, I haven't been able to bypass the version update consistently. I am able to get on the first round when I reDL the client, but attempts afterwards give me this error:

Unable to complete version update: [11035][30426]

I've looked around and haven't found any relevant solutions. Is anyone familiar with this issue?

I solved a similar error by deleting the FFXIV: ARR folder from C:\Users\YourName\Documents\My Games. It'll reset all your ingame settings to default though.

Most reliable way to farm crystals? More specifically fire crystals but any will do. I never pay attention to drops in this game.

Mining. First mining points you run into at level one outside uldah have fire shards. I assume higher level mining/botany drops higher forms like crystals too.

Depnds on your gear but for me atm it does around 570-590 without crits

I solved a similar error by deleting the FFXIV: ARR folder from C:\Users\YourName\Documents\My Games. It'll reset all your ingame settings to default though.

I tried this and I still receive the error. I then deleted the folder > Redownloaded the client > Reinst etc. Still not working.

Ok fixed the issue. I had to run FFXIVBoot as admin.

If you spam the 5-minute leves, they might be faster, but I don't remember how many seals those give, plus that costs leve allowances. Aside from that, yes fates are generally fastest. The highest-level ones you have access to (and have enough people around to complete).

Oh, and don't forget your GC hunting log, though those are one time only things.

There was a dev post about a week ago on the beta forums that said the GC seal acquisition was too slow (wtf?!?), so don't be surprised if things change. Personally, I've acquired everything I care to buy with GC seals for two classes (up through lv35) on a fresh beta 3 character, ranked up 4 times (up to Sergeant 3rd class), bought a 2k seal barding, and I still have 4k leftover.

I just ran around in Eastern Shroud doing Fates there and easily got enough to buy lots of things, this is kinda time consuming though and may have downtime sometimes. I didn't really mess around with the other ways to earn seals yet. However, I worry that this may change in phase 4 and beyond since it mentions that Fates can be used to earn company seals being limited to the beta test, or something like that.

I keep seeing people refer to this but I have seen no info that indicates company seals coming from FATEs is a beta only thing. The only thing I can find that sort of mentions it is in the patch notes for Phase 2 when Grand Companies were first implemented. It only says that for Phase 2 company seals can be obtained through FATEs but I took that to mean that since Company Leves and the Company Hunting Log weren't implemented yet that your only option was FATEs. This is further supported by them adjusting the seal values obtained in FATEs in Phase 3 even after having added Supply Missions and Company Leves. If there is a specific Dev post referring to this it would be nice to post to confirm cause all this Hearsay isn't doing much for clarity.

I just remember seeing something like that mentioned after unlocking the Grand Company. =/ I have no screenshot or anything of it and it could just have been worded poorly (or I misread it). I do hope it doesn't change though, giving more incentive to doing Fates would definitely make the "harder" ones easier to accomplish with more people doing them.

Most Legacy characters are sitting on 50,000 seals atm, I think the cap is being raised as well. I'm sure the new ranks/gear will be a good sink for those seals and even if FATEs and whatnot have their seal rates increased it'll still be a grind. Getting to 20(25?)K before was sort of a pain. You had to spam escorts or Totorak to get your rank up+beastmen book.

Yeah I read through those but they only mention that its possible to obtain them in FATEs starting with Phase 2, it doesn't specifically mention it being a beta only thing. I agree I hope it isn't just a beta only thing because the rewards from Company leves are depressing at best and having to choose between leveling a secondary class or getting seals when deciding how to spend my Leve allowances seems like a cheap cock block on their part.

For the record here is the first mention of FATEs giving seals in beta under "Scope of Beta Test - Phase 2":

So, I've only just recently reached what I think is the Ifrit battle.

The storyline spat me out into the enclosed cave, none of the NPCs have anything useful to tell me, one lets me escape through the water, and the NPC back at Camp Drybone sends me back into the cave...

Does nothing come up at all until you have a party ready to go?

does it say trial by fire, battle ifrit, challenge ifrit, join your grand company against ifrit, bowl of embers, or something similarly ifrit related?
