Looking to upgrade my video card for p4 and beyond, I have a Radeon 6570 atm and it runs ffxiv at around 25 fps on low settings. I have a budget of $250-$300 and want to see what input you guys have to offer as far as a solid card for that price range. Looking to run at max settings with at least 30 fps ... thanks in advance!

Are you sure the bottleneck is your GPU? I have a 660M and do 1080p on High with 30FPS most of the time.

The gtx 760 ($250) would fit the bill nicely assuming you are running at a resolution of 1080. The drivers still need some work since it's a new card but they should get there. That's at the lower end of your budget, so there's some room to look for something closer to $300 but I personally wouldn't know what to recommend.

It's XIV's version of gold-box or elite mobs. Mobs you typically aren't soloing unless you significantly out-level or out-gear the instance, and in the case of XIV, with scaled gear and level syncs, the odds of you reliably soloing them are slim at this point.

I think it's pretty much just so they don't need to waste a mob name on instance-only versions.

Took a quick glance through some of the weapons on the db site and want to make sure I'm looking at the right thing. So taking relic vs garuda HTH:

Relic has higher damage and auto attack but garuda has higher dps. Which of these should I be looking at in particular? And are the added stats (accuracy etc) accounted for in the dps rating?

I don't think DPS is a thing anymore. XIVDB has it but assuming the AA damage rating determines AA damage then DPS (which isn't on items any more) is no more.

Also accuracy couldn't factor into a DPS rating anyway since something like that depends on the target's evasion.

DPS doesn't effect WS's like it did in 1.0 if that's what you're talking about, so just go with the higher DMG weapon. In this case Sphairai will beat Garuda's.

Edit: I'm still salty as fuck that it's now Sphairai instead of Spharai. (I know Spharai is a misspelling, but I had that shit for years and it's what I'm used to typing)

Its a standard version, I have the 1.0 CE so didn't need them. Also since it's physical copy I would guess item codes are in the game case, otherwise I could just cancel after claiming them.

So I am trying to figure out what the "base" Grand Company does for your Free Company. During B3 a lot of FC's were formed, most of them were under the flag of Immortal Flames. Is this merely a cosmetic choice or does the Grand Company you affiliate your FC with effect anything substantial for the group? I know a FC can have members of any GC but what exactly does the FC's GC do?

Can I use the code i got from pre-ordering the PC version from Amazon if i have a 1.0 CE account just go get in for early access? I remember people saying PC Pre-order codes > 1.0 CE will not work for items but wasn't sure about the early access.
