Who knows they may get more orders in the next few weeks before release since it already happened once, but it's hard to say. My guess is that if you didn't get your CE by now you're probably SOL. That is unless you want to pay a premium for one.

A slight mark up for it is one thing but an extra $100 is another.
So what's the general consensus on Bard? Stack as much DEX as possible or stack PIE and MP for song duration? Or aim for a mix?
DEX DEX DEX DEX DEX DEX DEX DEX DEX DEX DEX DEX DEX DEX
Due to the way gear works, there are scarce few items that BRD can even equip that provide PIE (MP isn't even a raw stat anymore). To put that in perspective for you, I've filtered xivdb for body armors with PIE. It turned up a whopping 7. None of them usable by BRD. Similar results for all other non-accessory gear slots. (Side note: WTF? Seven? Really?! That's IT?)
Also, if you allot your stat points into PIE, you will be kicking yourself once ARC has a real DD job that it can use instead of BRD.
You could stack some materia, if you want, but the best gear doesn't have materia slots soooooooooooooo
In summary: As things currently stand, stacking MP is nearly impossible (even for mages). To all you linear-progression gear lovers out there from that other thread, THIS is the kind of shit that us horizontal-progression lovers haaate.
Aren't allotted points specific to each job? So you could theoretically pump DEX on ARC, PIE on BRD and whatever on ARC's second job.
Based on what you say stacking PIE is impossible so we're left with stacking DEX or going for a mix. Going for a mix you'd put all your allocated points into PIE and get the DEX from gear. I favour stacking DEX myself since I prefer damage over song duration but at end game are those extra seconds from PIE going to be more worthwhile to the group? This is what I can't decide. I'm going to be putting this into a guide so I don't want to say stack PIE or DEX if it's the wrong way.
They're given to the class, since you only had to set them once for ARC/BRD.
We haven't had a class split into two jobs, so nobody knows how it will work when you have a branching class. Speculation for ACN is that you'll use cleric stance to swap MND to INT for use with SCH/SMN but it's just speculation at this point.
Specific per class, unless I am mistaken...?
edit: beaten.
You're... making a guide for a game that isn't even out? Good god, give it some time. If you have to ask these sorts of questions, that should be proof that you shouldn't be writing up a guide right now anyway.
• Do you know how much MP a single point of PIE gives your BRD at lv50?
• Do you know how much MP/tick a song costs at lv50?
I sure don't know the answer to these questions.
Also, don't forget, "Damage calculations will be changing between Phase 3 and Phase 4" (though that probably wouldn't affect a guide). Sorry for the ire, but I've seen some retarded guides already.
Interesting. I assumed it worked like in 1.0 whereby attribute points could be set separately for the class and the job. Seems they have condensed it to just one setting if what you say is true. I can't remember how it worked in phase 3 as you only set this shit once.
You do realise BRD at level 50 was available in phase 3 right? There is enough info around to make a general play guide, but obviously not of the min/max hardcore type.
DEX vs PIE is quite debatable since I see a lot of talk about increasing song durations on theory crafting threads. But I wouldn't want PIE on my ARC so if there is no separate attribute setting then it has to be DEX.
PIE gives around 5.25 MP per point and around 40 MP per second is used at level 50. There's a lot of calculations out there already. You are right the damage formula may change but that is irrelevant for me. I'm not trying to write the ultimate hardcore guide, it will focus more on which skills to use when, stats and gear. IE shit the generation population wants to know. The min/maxing guides can be done by other people with more time.
Anyone know where I can pre order the collectors edition (actual physical editions I want the box set and stuff inside like the token) every place I look is the downloadI need a pc and ps3 one
Yeah if you wanted a PC CE, well, you're about a month too late. They were sold out on the SE store a while ago. Also, the last of the PS3 CEs seemed to have sold out this past weekend.
You may get lucky, but because of all the goodies and relatively low price this CE has been selling. Good luck with your hunt though.
If people want a PS3 version CE, send me a tell, i could maybe try to arrange some stuff with you (Ebgames in Canada still has soon afaik)
They have yet to send my PS3 code in a follow-up email. D: I wonder if me registering a PC Beta code from Logitech had something to do with it?
Either way I still need a 12 digit PSN code to download the client.
can anyone confirm that 1.0 collectors edition owners will get the digital items for ARR collectors for free or have to buy to get them?
