I was able to set up payment using my credit union's Visa credit/debit card. No need to bother with Crysta or anything. Or do you mean you don't want to use your credit card (give up your number) at all?

So I'm toying with the char creation benchmark app. Making a miquote, I realised if I make a Keeper of Moon/Seeker of Sun I can more or less (or I think, 100%; the face seems to have slightly different options) make them look alike. So aside from insignificant stat differences and probably some latent bonus/perk in game each race/division will have, there isn't much to lose either way is there?
Also, is it right to assume these appearance options are final? WoW at least had an in-game hair shop (using in-game money) that allows you to change your hair and some facial features like piercings/tatoos. If it's final, I better spend longer in this to make sure I don't regret it later lol
We're expecting at the very least, a "salon" of sorts where you could change your hair style, color, etc. No word on what all falls under the 'etc.' section (tattoos? face paint?).
That's goooooooood. That way if my Lightning Costume is in fact, just a costume, and is useless in battle (I presume I can take the appearance of the costume but retain my core gear stats) I can change my hair white and be like "ok no prob" .... haha
It's been said that both a barber and "transmog/wardrobe" function is on the to-do list, but won't be available at launch. If I remember correctly, they also said things like eye colour and scars won't be changeable within the barber they plan to add.
That's fine, I'm happy. I don't care about other things but changing hair colour is important if my fantasies (lol) don't work out :D
There was an item mined that allowed you to re-enter Character Creation entirely. They've also mentioned barbershop a few times. FFXIII gear is mostly just a costume, yes, with very minimal stat gains (and it's only Lv13), as for looking like you're wearing your Lightning Costume and having good gear stats-- no you can't. Not yet anyway, though they've talked about the possibility of doing so in the future via vanity slots etc
Barbershop option is said to be available in 2.1 Which hopefully comes a month after launch
Wound up getting a refurb ASUS G75VW from a co-worker the other day for about $500. Checked newegg and read some reviews on it beforehand; I assume I shouldn't have much trouble playing this game on this machine? Probably gonna add a SSD later on, but somewhat happy to save as much as I did.
That's the last laptop related question I'll be asking.
That'll play it no prob perfect. GTX 660m is in the upper tiers of performance (about a Tier 2 in terms of performance, out of 5 tiers).
My machine runs on a GT 640m and my friend's machine, except with an i5 CPU, otherwise exactly the same, played it no prob and smooth when I went to see it in action. You'll have 0 trouble for sure.
Rocl: Thanks for the info. I'll just have to cling on to that gear then and hope one day they make it usable as a vanity thing! :D
Thanks!
Main differences are the Sunseekers have cat-eyes and warmer skin tone palate, and has a red gem facial feature and tatoos
Moonkeepers have pointy teeth, large pupiled eyes, cooler skin tones, and has a black drop facial feature and earclasps instead of tatoos.
In 1.0 there was a lot more restriction on colors, and also affected the tail type -- but I think them being more similar now is great.
I will be surprised if down the road they don't eventually add a full redo character customization item, for a fee. Sounds like an easy way for them to get extra money.
It's been over a week since I preordered from GameStop online and still have not received my registration code. Customer service has not responded to my Email. Cause for concern? If I get off my lazy ass and physically go to the store and buy it am I guaranteed a code right then?
Should probably go back to the store.
Edit: Didn't read your post closely enough. Yeah, go to the store and buy it but make sure they put the code on your receipt.
Can't go back to a store when you order online.
Cancel the preorder and go to the store to preorder again then, if all the reports over the past weeks are accurate, you're not going to get the code online.
So apparently you can't get the preorder code/bonus through best buy? What is this bullshit?

We had ours ordered through there, WAT DO?
[edit] does this even matter if you are legacy?
Cancel and order through someone that doesn't suck massive dick I would imagine.
If you are Legacy you already have early access by default, but you do not receive the pre-order bonus items, Mog Cap, and the Caith Sith minion.
