I only know of a couple spots that I've seen people at immediately after Boar Leather became a thing, and they're both around Treespeak. One is immediately east of Treespeak's Aetherial Gate in the clearing just past the bridge; in the northeastern area of the clearing, there is a group of boars. The other one is further east (and a tad north, as the path requires) and then once you hit the spot where you have to descend back to ground-level, go south until you run into another group of boars just before a cave entrance.

I don't farm these myself and haven't been there recently, but it's worth a look if you don't get any better leads. These spots were always camped back when I cared, but I can't say if they still are or whether the boars there even drop hides still.

What are the melee accuracy numbers for Garuda?

When is it socially acceptable to drop stats for accuracy? I'm assuming you want 95-98%+ acc because no matter how awesome your stats are if you miss it's 0 dmg?

You want acc to be as close to 100% as possible, I'd sacrifice a large deal to achieve that. Missing a WS isn't just hitting for 0, it's potentially missing a crucial step in a combo which could set your DPS back anywhere between 10 to 30 seconds. Some combos are helpful for dealing with certain situations where TP is limited (such as plumes), and considering Garuda is mostly a DPS race (in a sense) you can't afford to lose out damage so easily.

Besides, you don't want to waste all that effort predicting and dealing with Garuda's shitty pathing when positioning yourself to combo. Missing is just the worst thing for a melee in this game lol

As a tank I go into Garuda with ~420 accuracy and that does the trick for me. Without the carp I eat to get there, I find I miss heavy swing or skull sunder too often for that to be of any use to my enmity.

For 100% you need upwards of 440, at 438 I still get occasional misses.

So I've been using WAR to farm and only use 5/5 AF and random DD accessories from MNK. Figure I'll gear it up for some fights I can't/shouldn't PLD, don't want to get mad expensive, so just single melds for now. What's a good not complete shit gear set look for? Flame Sergeant rank gear all available as well, if any of that is worth using.

This looks a lot like a DD set, am I just missing something or is a DD set a little different?

Oh, you wanted tank stuff? Was hard to tell cuz you said farming. I see it now.. here:

WEP: Garuda / Moogle / Demilune or Barb. Bardiche with Enmity (prolly expensive and not worth it, but makes up for lack of enmity in other slots...)
HD: Militia Armet (easy to get) / AF
    BD: AF
    HN: Militia Gauntlets / AF
    LG: AF
    FT: Sentinel's Sabatons / AF
WAIST: Cobalt or Sentinel's with Enmity
    EARS: Stonewall Earrings
NECK: Militia Choker / Explorer's Choker
WRISTS: Coral Armillae / Raptorskin Wristbands
    RINGS: Electrum Rings

Heavy darklight is really the best tanky stuff for WAR and nothing else comes close to it. +1 on accessories helps.

Yeah was looking for easy/cheap tank gear. I currently use my WAR for farming is what I was saying, just full AF and random DD gear leftover from MNK, but I doubt I'll be able to tank like that.

The stuff I listed is pretty easy to get. Militia Armet is 100% drop when over 60k points in Aleport. The gauntlets are fairly common in Hyrstmill.

Righteous. I'll probably upgrade my farm/DD set to the one you posted higher up too, though.

INT melded Lightning Brand, double meld if u can.
Auberest Alegory for shield (or if from Grid GC the M.acc+10 shield)
Hat with INT melded, your choice of circlet, monocles or regular felt cavalier hats. (or meld M.acc if needed) Lots of options here.
INT melded pants, woolen or felt
    Melded M.atk Mahogany patterns
    Mage's halfgloves

Body/boots/gloves are acceptable to use AF

Depending on your M.acc (you'll want to keep it 450+ atleast) your accessory are gonna vary from elemental chokers to mage choker, INT rings to coral rings and a Mage Ring.

If using mostly thunder combo, stack INT. If you use Fire combo stack M.atk.

Pieces or places? And if pieces, do you mean what slot? If so, head (for accuracy), hands and waist are good too I think for savage might and enmity.
