ATK gains don't show in the stat window (only magic stat stuff does).

For legs you can multi-meld some felt trousers with STR/DEX and/or STR/VIT but, at least on my server, they're among the most expensive materia even at base level.

For feet Explorer's Moccasins are a great option, I wouldn't worry about the -enm loss, DRG has the most hate shedding tools of any job (also no one has any idea what the elusive jump enhancement even does).

Can I do a main storyline quest that requires, say, a level 30 job then come back and accept the reward on a lower level job?

Yes, but the exp reward will be severely nerfed if the job you receive it on is below the recommended level, the further below you are the worse it gets.

I accidentally completed the last GC quest as R1 CUL (meant to be on R22 ALC, as if that would have been much better, but nothing else to get exp on) and the exp reward of like 6k-ish (for R45+) I think came out to 35 exp or something like that.

Yes, Mage's Halfglove or M.crit melded ringbands.

Spruce Pattens is basically best shoes if you multiple melds it. Not much choice of belt, if you are adders, there is INT+3 Belt. Otherwise, HP+ Belt is pretty good.

Probably a lost cause asking on here but does anyone know how shop items link up to shop names in the dats? You'd think the product listing ID would link up to an NPC name but it doesn't. I'm left thinking I'm missing a file after doing a whole load of digging. Using that JP dat viewer.

What is the perceived best way to get points for Hamlet? I've been farming Raptor Skin/Sinew +1, selling the NQ skins/sinew/shanks, and buying Resin +1 to ultimately make Longboots, but that seems to take a bit long. Is there anything...faster? On Durandal, in order to get 1st/2nd/3rd, it seems you need something like a million points, and even then it's not guaranteed. I've seen some people in fourth with roughly 1mil.

Also, is there any optimal strategy/set-up for Garuda anyone knows of? My group keeps getting close, but seems to fall apart on clones from deaths.

I've heard of linkshells dumping a bunch of items onto one person. You can't really compete with that unless you go go out and spend a ton of money.

Alternatively, you could prepare for several weeks and amass a huge stockpile, but I don't think there's any single 'best' way.

You can mass produce NQ longboots is probably the easiest, only downside is INV space but you can farm 100 NQ skins in ~2 hrs and convert all that into NQ and just stockpile (10 stacks = 1M points). With HQ leather and Sinew and a good amount of crafting skills you can hit 40-70% HQ rate if you wanna try that route. Unfortunately top 3 is serious business and only way is to stockpile 1-2M worth of supplies.

As for Garuda, we run 2WAR 2BRD 3BLM WHM, during clone phase WAR collude blm as they drop excruciate Flare and just zerg everything down (prefer using fire but thunder combo works). WAR pop SP and its a DPS race from then on. WHM aoe regen, brd aoe SS and everyone carry elixirs or Hi-pots.

Anyone ever transfered items from retainer to self, and had the items vanish? just happened to me today, it was like 3 level 30 pieces of rare/ex NM gear, but it leaves me extremely unconfident that my retainer isn't gonna lose my shit, anyone else ever experience anything like that?

We use: BLM BLM BLM BRD BRD WAR WAR WHM.

For clones, it's very important to both get into position as quickly as possible and for the tanks to grab their respective targets as quickly as possible -- while firing Collusions on assigned BLMs. We have our WARs use Collusion at the very beginning, right before the second wave of plumes, and first clone pop. Our BLMs get into position right away, Sanguine Rite, Excruciate, Parsimony, Resonance if necessary, etc., then Flare. We then have them anchor off Garuda and go through the Fire line until Chirada is dead, then resume Thunder line on Garuda. For "west wind", where the perimeter gets covered in wind, we move to the middle; for "the air warps and bends", we just have our WARs sit on the very edge of the east side of the map and everyone piles up behind. If someone does pull hate off a clone, they need to react quickly to make sure the clone isn't pointed at the party. You can also try to have the WARs point Garuda/Chirada and Suprana in different directions, i.e. if in the middle, Garuda/Chirada facing west, Suprana facing north. By that point in time, the WHM should also not be afraid to use Benediction to recover from a bad stun/knockback.

Hi, I'm about to hit 50 on THM/BLM, and I want to know what are the caps for stats that I should look to get?

I know that as melee the recommended stats are around 330/300, but I have no idea with BLM, besides getting tons of M.Acc, but I'd like to aim for some concrete numbers (since I lack AF/dungeons gear) on stats, MA, AMP.

Melee stat caps are more concrete than mage stats; you hit a magic number and the stat stops being useful. Mages don't really encounter that as much.

I don't have any advice for specific numbers to shoot for, but I just thought I'd throw that out there. Something tells me the answer is likely to be "shit's situational".

My gear is mostly geared for tanking, so as you can tell it's not the best for doing damage. Problem is, I can't think of anything else that I should meld onto my gear.

If you have say 3 bards in a party, can you have 3 minuets going at once, one from each bard? Or can you only have one song each?

Can only have one song buff per type up at once. You can have Minuet + Ballad (using two bards), but you cannot have Minuet + Minuet.
