Oh well, enough people want to do the final fight that I'm not worried about getting another party...beyond the old preferring BLMs to every other DD problem.

if you have a rare/ex item on your retainer, can you have the same rare/ex item in your inventory? (like ffxi)

Yes, same goes for bazaars. You can have a R/EX item up for Repair, one on your retainer, one up for repair on your retainer and one in your inventory.

So, in theory, you can have 6 copies of any r/ex weapon I think? Even more if it's a storable item (event items are the only things that come to mind though, I accidentally had like 4 kabutos once)

Are we sure it's gunna be the same after 2.0? Not doubting anyone, necessarily, but if we're talking about something that's essentially an exploit and there's going to be a major system's overhaul, I think there needs to be that caveat. Beta is basically 1.5-2 months away.

Well you really need a balanced party to win the fight. Going in all BLM isn't gonna cut it towards the end.

No reason to expect it to be the same in 2.0, but the worst that should happen is you lose your extra copies of items. I don't think anyone was deliberately using this tactic to bring additional rare/ex items into 2.0--unless I missed that part.

well you could do it in ffxi, and they even made it easier by allowing you to mail it to mules, so not sure why they'd take issue with it in ff14. It's really not that much of an exploit. For me, my ls is finally ready to start doing ifrit runs and I wanted to keep at least one of each weapon for when I level said jobs (for those that drop for me anyways), then get seals for the extras I get.

Yeah, I think it even might be what they exactly intended, so I wouldn't call it an exploit too fast.

They should have just dropped the rare tags on primal weapons, they don't go in the loot pool and the can't be traded anyway, would have just saved the roundabout of storing/damaging them so you could get multiples.

This game's loot mechanics are stupid. I finally get a darkhold run to finish my AF quests and a shitstorm erupts because someone wanted some stupid scalemail. I ignored it because I couldn't use it and it drops in my inventory cuz I'm leader. Apparently I've gotten too used to need greed pass systems.

Well, to be fair, most people who help on those are doing it for seals. Seals are acquired by trading those items in to your GC. There's literally no chance of you doing Dzemael in a PUG without someone, preferably a PLD, knowing how to run it.

Yes, and it's 'random' who it drops to. Doesn't just auto-drop to pt leader.
