OK question for brd. WIth the af state bonus does this mean I should keep them on for w/e song I will be casting in a fight? ie. if I'm doing ballads I should keep my af body on but then have my felt bracers on etc.

Not sure how strong the af bonuses are or if I have a raptorskin harness then I should just keep that on fulltime.

Here's the AF bonuses (taken from the stats thread)

Choral Shirt:
- Increases Ballad of the Magi effect from 20 MP/tick to 26 MP/tick.
- Increases Ballad of the Magi effect under Battle Voice from 40 MP/tick to 51 MP/tick.

- Increases Paeon of War effect from 50 TP/tick to 60 TP/tick.
- Increases Paeon of War effect under Battle Voice from 100 TP/tick to 120 TP/tick.

Choral Ringband:
- Increases Minuet of Rigor effect from 35 ACC/MACC to 43 ACC/MACC.

Also, yeah if you're not casting the song that's enhanced by a piece of gear and you have better DD gear to wear in its place, then you should definitely just wear the DD gear.

If you were asking whether or not the enhancement is lost when you take off the gear (but after you've sung the song), then answer is likely no, the enhancement should remain.

ty for the stats. I was asking during long fights where I have to cast it multiple times if I should keep the af on (since you can't switch it out in battle) or if bards say fuck it and just wear the better gear.

You can't change weapons to a different class, but anything else is fair game as long as you aren't engaged.

You know, I had always heard that... but when on mage, even when I disengaged and stood back for a bit, I couldn't change any of my gear while anything I attacked was still alive. Maybe I wasn't hitting the buttons hard enough?

Maybe? WHM is the only job I gearswap for (besides rings on BLM if I'm getting resisted) but I can definitely swap while something is alive. Obviously I'm never engaged cuz I'm a mage and not retarded. Never had an issue switching (including weapon from one WHM weapon to another).

What jobs are people doing for Locke's Lie? or at least, what's the strat for the tree? We tried with multiple tanks but the hate reset is too quick, even with 3 warriors

We did 1 PLD 2 WAR 2 BRD 2 WHM (and then one of the two WARs dc'd mid-fight <_<). We just had people run around like idiots while the tree spammed the hate reset. Eventually he calms down for a bit (window to do as much damage as you can) before going crazy with the reset again.

I'm sure there's a better way to do it and maybe we just got lucky, but it seemed to work ok for us. Felt messy for sure though.

Havent done Skirmish yet but if the tree is hate resetting that often, wouldnt it be easiest to just use like 5WAR or something and everyone just go nuts?

Yeah it would be, unfortunately two members were AF drgs that "didn't have any other jobs," and since I was too lazy to stalk 'em on the lodestone I took them at their word. The entire Locke's Lie would be great with like 4 WAR, 2 WHM, 2 BRD or something lol

Turtleback Island was a nightmare (for this group) got the chimaera to like 70% before the cyclops popped lol

To those who have done both islands a few times, any noticeable drop rate differences between the two?

There are low level ones. I think there should be some guys around the 30 camps, I'm pretty sure there's a GC leve guy in Nanawa (low) and Halitali (high). Not sure about other regions cause uldah fuck yeah!
