It's a good piece and if you need it for set bonus then it's certainly worthwhile.
If you're suffering for PIE you can consider using the GC bracelet instead of the body (not like wrist is a valuable slot) so you can use a PIE melded harness.

I wanted to gear my Bard a bit and was wondering. I have the Gridania GC coat and was looking at the 25k bow but it seems a bit sucky compared to the Limsa and Uldahn Bow. Since I want to get one of the new Skirmish Bows anyway, would PIE or DEX be better to meld on it? Guess it depends on the rest of the gear, gotta see what I have lol. Don't have the crown or DL eyepatch sadly, so maybe I need to get the Gridanian Officer Cap (HP+30 MP+30 Piety+15 Critical Hit Rating+10).
Not that I ever use it at events or anything, just don't want to have only AF and a sucky weapon on any of my jobs hehe. Cause my current Aleson's Songbow has to go. xD
Imperial Operative Tricorne also seems interesting, wonder where it comes from. (Strength+10,Dexterity+15,Critical Hit Rating+20,Critical Hit Attack Power+20).
The Lieutenant Grid GC bow isn't terrible. It has a much lower delay, thus giving an actual higher theoretical DPS than the Limsa/Ul'dah bows (not taking any additional stats into account). I forget whether the auto-attack stat caps are based on DPS or Damage though. Story may change if it's based on damage, idk. So many things to keep straight.
Tricorne hasn't been located yet (to my knowledge). It's probably from the 1.23a 7th Umbral Era (Hard) content.
Light-shot is affected by the damage rating, that's why the 77 from the Gridanian Bow puts me off a bit, but yes it has the higher dps for higher WS skills.
Skirmish Bow has a higher damage rating but lower dps again, but maybe by putting Materia on it it can even out. I'll prolly get both and test it out until I get a Garuda's Spine. ^^
I don't want to make a new thread to advertise but I thought I'd let you all know that my item database is now online.

I won't claim it's better than alternatives out there, but it's surely nice to have multiple resources like this around. Took ages to make.
when you are putting multiple materia on an item is it better to go up tiers (3 to 4) or down tiers (4 to 3)?
I think 3 to 4 is best but it's been so long since I did that you might want someone to confirm. When I was double melding my shit I went 3 to 4 however.
Low -> High is better odds than High -> Low.
Should never do High -> Low unless it's just an unplanned whim.

Making some gearsets while at work. Is there anywhere that lists stats at 50? Like how much pty/dex bed has at 50the or how much and whm has at 50.
Brd* and 50*. Stupid phone
Edit: nm
Since 2.0 is going to change so much about the game, is there any thought from the mods on somehow locking off threads originating during 1.0, or using a different forum number once 2.0 beta starts?
Will probably be doing that once 2.0 beta starts and new information is coming out from testers.
How's -enmity from gear/materia? All the testing I found is around a year old, and if it's as bad as it says, then I don't understand how people from these forums advocate for +enmity for tanks so much (unless +enmity and -enmity work in completely different ways).
Hoping something changed between those tests and now or that they were proven to be wrong.
Well it's the same as it always was, but +enmity has higher utility since you can predict where you will be every 30s. Most players aren't going to see the value to them unless they are dealing with players outputting ridiculous amounts of dps when not holding back (which enough +enmity allows your party to do). The average pickup party will never get to that point, instead using the "stop pulling hate" excuse.
love that one, lol
it's getting to the point for me that it's impossible to do things as one ws/spell goes yellow>flashing and I get 5 people yelling at me
I mean don't get me wrong, stacking enmity is not the end-all-be-all, but for zerg fights, tanks need it. It's really difficult to kill stuff like Coincounter in 90s or less without a tank that has major enmity control. WAR and PLD are different beasts though so execution is also a big factor. In other fights you can get away with a lot less enmity on PLD due to the nature of mobs having natural damage reduction to melee (like Ifrit extreme for example).
Man, the grind to 50 seems so damn long. Been doing leves and I feel like im getting nowhere (27). Haven't seen many grind parties either unfortunately
