I have 5 nut charms left or random luck before I get my mog bow, but when I do I'm gonna take ifrits, mog, giantsgall, and lvl 50 lt. bow and get some hard testing done on them.
Currently I can get around 610 atk power and 293 DEX/339 PIE. which I think is hitting Cap for the giantsgall, but there doesnt seem to be a lot of testing done on bows.
I find it odd that most all dow's sit around 350/310, but brd doesn't from the testing I've seen.
Giantsgalls DPS is 38.57 or some shit, which is comparable to most other weapons in that zone(DPS wise I mean)
I have to save up a freak ton of seals to Get that Lt. Bow though.
I'd lose about 25 DEX, and gain 15acc (which has been a non-factor tbh) but I'm curious to see If the dmg/DPS/delay difference is gonna mater, and/or be worth the loss of DEX. Unfortunately, I can't see a build with grand company gear that wouldn't require me to lose to much in other slots.

It's because Ifrits bow is at 36.x dps and not 39.7dps like its ifrit counterparts

And now on to another unsettling topic. Rumors abound of the massive Garlean fortress that appeared in the west of Mor Dhona almost overnight. Although the Empire is unsurpassed in its mastery of magitek, none could have suspected it was capable of such a feat of rapid construction. The Order of the Twin Adder has dispatched scouting parties to gather intelligence on the imperial base, and I, for one, am breathlessly anxious to hear what they discover.
Interesting; wonder if we'll see this new fortress in the next patch. Highly doubt it's on the scale of a current stronghold given the resources they took to make them, but who knows.

Weird, since it was posted today and CN is old news, I figured it would be something new.

That paragraph just basically says "Wow, they sure did construct that fast! We knew they were savvy with Magitek, but we sure didn't know they could do construct a base so quickly!"

While there was previously a blurb about it on the Lodestone, I can only assume they're re-hashing it because it's being written from the perspective of a news article from a different publication. Maybe they had some kind of minimum character count they had to hit, and they were just trying to come up with stuff to write about.

Back in January they ran a deal where the game was like $15 and I dont remember exactly where I DL'ed it from. I thought it was the SE store but it's not finding anything relating to my info. How can I find out where I got it from so I can get it again? I also had the garlond goggle code that I havent used yet and I need to find that too. Also how much is it per month now? Thanks.

it does <_< either do a 50k+ point hamlet run (fairly easy with a decent group) for 100 anima back, or just beat it for 15 anima back, or turn in 10 light kidney ore/supple spruce branch/young indigo herring to the supply phase hamlets for 4 anima back per 10.

Anima is never an excuse anymore!

Perhaps not the correct thread, but how do I get the Gold Scales so I can get "Gore a Lizard, Hurry" Grand Company quest? The wiki says they're 2500 flame serpent seals but I've looked through all the ranks and didn't see them anywhere.

Are you looking under all the sub-menu tabs in the purchase window (it should be listed under key items I think).

Also make sure your rank high enough to purchase them.

I thought you bought them by applying for promotion from the middle NPC, not from the one that normally sells items. I could be mistaken though.

Aha! I had to apply for my next promotion, and he gave them to me. Thanks for the help folks. I feel a bit silly now, haha. Is "Gore a Lizard, Hurry" doable alone, or will I need to enlist the help of some friends?

3-4 probably. 2 WHM + 2 AoE DPS (preferable WAR because they take hits better, Dodore's shadowsear hurts)

Does the windowed version of this game properly work?

Most of the time it runs fine, but maybe 20% of the time whenever I attempt to minimize the screen, it causes the player to error out then crash.

Or is my computer just not working? I always get 'cannot find directx" error after the fact.

It kinda sucks, but I'm not sure why. Mine crashes with relative frequency if it doesn't have focus while entering/exiting cutscenes (elevator, chocobo, airship, etc.).

I do find it quite comical that the game somehow manages to crash twice when I logout using my bed. I get two of those "Final Fantasy XIV has stopped working" dialogs. I didn't even know that was possible.

I don't minimize the game usually, so I can't comment on that, but why are you minimizing it in the first place if you know that's a problem? Just leave it up in the background.

At this point though, I've stopped complaining since we'll be getting a whole new client soon that's supposed to cure cancer be better than this one or something.

I haven't had any real issues besides the very seldom random client crash (which just about everyone seems susceptible to). Windowed mode at 1920x1080 + ShiftWindow has been my cup of tea for over a year now.
