Speaking of the empire, I kind of hope that the empire "uniforms" look better in 2.0. I don't really like their purple/red standard-looking gear.

Has anyone parsed out Healer's Robe vs. Imperial Operative Dalmatica? Or for that matter how Healing Magic Potency really works/scales?

Heals for pretty much the same, the only benefit is refresh and pretty.

^Is why I asked if you could just flat calculate cures a bit ago, I was trying to illustrate a point that the dalmy wasn't necessarily better than the robe.

I quit probably around the dirty 30's in xiv, couldn't really find any players to stick with. Trying to not go to guild wars 2 so I guess i have two questions with 2.0- 1) Is it worth getting back into now or would I find the same problem? 2) Is there any competition factor involved? I've researched a bit and the concept of Odin is really cool (Random area NM that gets stronger each time killed)- I guess i'm asking is there any more content like this that I haven't been able to find. Thanks for bearing with my noobness.

I would suggest waiting for 2.0. There's a lot of reasons why but...
Pretty much any activity is going to end at 11/1 when all character data is getting saved and transitioned over so you have right now about 2 months to play.
Unless you want to experience the last days of how the game is right now since most of it's going away.

I missed some old news, but did they announced w/e Primal Weapons like Moogle items will still be obtainable in 2.0 or get it now before the fights doesnt exists

K cuz PUG on durandal atm sucks for moogle, they wanna do 1 PLD kiting all moogle exept the one the PT fighting and wipe ensure

Err, that's pretty much the basic method isn't it? Our group does that all the time and never has problems with it. Chances are someone in your PT is fucking up, rather than the strategy fucking you over.

That's pretty much how it's done now. It works out pretty well when the tank is WAR and does Collusion on a BLM casting Flare right after the King is summoned.

Ok so can someone give me a breakdown of how the class system works in laymans terms? Do the new specific jobs (ffxi style jobs) completely overshadow the older newer ones? What does a lancer offer over a dragoon for example?
