Someone had recently mentioned they got jacked by an Ogre that was somewhere it shouldn't have been in Thanalan. Not sure how much truth there is to it though.

There are sabos like that around all around (and inside, for that matter) the Horizon camp as well.

Random high level sabotenders running around everywhere has gotten me killed a few times. The way linking works in this game is very odd. Why the hell does a level 79 sabo link with a level 35 ant? Just makes no sense at all.

They were supposed to change it so mobs only link to the same type of mob (for example, drakes wouldn't link to Amal'jaa, only other Amal'jaa).

Was this something they just pretended they never said or was it officially pushed into 2.0?

Pretty sure it was never said to be coming in 1.0, and has always been a 2.0 feature, but it's so old I could be mistaken.

That's good to hear. It's rather interesting running around trying to get around and having a weak mob aggro on my choco but then have a non-aggressive mob link and hit me 8k instantly killing me and half destroying my gear. Is there a good collection of things that will be changed or things that have changed already anywhere that I can read up on?

In XI, we had Disc and patch torrents hosted...was wondering if anyone with the actual game discs could .iso the XIV 1.0 client and get them online. I know they are available already, but it's pretty common to put a root or trojan into those types of things to steal pw's and such and I'd feel a lot more comfortable getting a copy from BG.

If you're casting Thunder: Wizard's Crakows or Spruce Pattens + Lightning materia.
If you're casting Fire: Spruce Pattens + Fire or Hell's Fist materia.

I finally got a decent PC started so I can play the game a bit. I have a lancer at 25 and I was wondering if I should do the quest for drg now(I know it is lvl 30 and pug lvl 1), or wait until ARR? I kind of given up on doing the Imperial Decisions (Gridania) (sp) at this point, even though I have not shouted in Uldah.

I'm seriously afriad to spend 25k on GC bow just to have it become weaker in ARR lol.

If it helps, I can ISO my disc if you have some method of permanent hosting. I can borrow my work's hosting server to get it to someone but I can't leave it there forever and certainly not have traffic from all over hitting it ^^;

As far as getting patches, is there any special method of doing that or would simply copy pasting my folders work? I'm not all that familiar with 14's file system nor have I done any reinstalls with it before so I'd just need some basic info before doing it.

As a side note, is there a way to play "full screen" in this game without using SE's crappy one that crashes when you click off or alt-tab? I don't like windowed mode @.@ I found a few things I thought might do it but I'm not certain if they are being kept up with or not or if they even work.
